I have a custom checkerboard roof on my black car, and figured I try it out on the dash. My vinyl guy Don is the best there is. Whaddya think...

Interesting look, but do you find it distracting while driving?

Not at all.
I look as far ahead as I can see, and in every other direction there is when I drive. I tested different size squares before I settled on inch and a quarter, they seem to be the perfect size.

Sporty adn fun It does look like it could be distracting - perhaps some photos showing the rest of the car too to put it in context would be good. What about the door handles?

I do need new mats, and I just saw those the other day. They would be perfect.

Thanks everyone!
It was hard to tell exactly how it would look by just picturing it in your head, but I think it came out pretty cool. Good thing, because I would have had a lot of little white squares to peel off. The cool thing is, I haven't seen another dash like it yet.

I thought about doing the seats, but I think that would be too much. The headliner would be cool.

COOL!!

Wasn't sure about it until you showed the pic with the roof visible. That made a big difference.

Good idea to personalize your car.

No checks on the stripes. It did come up when we were deciding what to do. Sometimes less is more.
