That looks really nice... It makes me re-think what I want to do with my grillz.

I wonder how this would look on an all black mini, I have always liked the grills, but not sure if it would make my mini look any better or worse! What do you guys think?

do it garrett! it's an easy job and the grills sit flush and make everthing on the car flow, plus it just looks so smooth. i can't tell you how much i like them, and you can get them in black.

Was thinking about it, not sure if silver on a black car would be to much. I have black wheels with polished lip, and if i were to get black would it offset the wheels to much as well as the chrome trim around the lights and the car.

I've always wondered what silver mesh like that would look like on mine. Maybe I need to do a bit of photoshop.

I think it would be really sweet if the grill were anthracite mesh on a Jet Black!

I just stole your grill and put it on mine:

Its a bit sloppy but it works. It doesnt work with my dark scoop at all. Might look good with a crome scoop though.

I think the big silver mesh makes the MINI's nose look a bit more Bentlyish for lack of better words. That is what I thought when I saw rrdusek's original post as well.

Thanks rrdusek, I've been meaning to do that to see what it would look like. And sorry to hijack, your new grills and lip look great, I love the contrast with the blue.

to me, it doesn't look too "bentlyish" in person. maybe a sideview would show more.

Garrett,

A red grill would go well with those red calipers! Follwed by the red hourglass on top!

I am with you on this. They look really odd without some kind of frame to them.

Not to poo on anyones party, but i have to agree that all of the grills that sit 100% flush & have no frame seem off to my eye. It's almost as if they are sort of pasted on top of where the factory grills were or something.

but, different strokes for different folks...enjoy!

rrdusek, I still think it is a major improvement and looks classy. Those plastic slats that come on the MINI are pretty lame. I think that I said that it looks bentlyish because I was watching a pimp-my-ride sort of show, but with nicer and new vehicles like the Magnum and Chrysler 3000, and they were putting on similar style of grill on these cars and it looked very hot. And then I went to an auto show and saw the same grill look on the new Bently and such that they had on show there. These grills had some name brand though and actually had the solid center chrome bar which made them look very bentlyish. Don't take it negatively, I guess I just thought that it looked both sporty and classy, and I love the lack of frame.

Different is good too.

Rick! That looks awesome! Looks like you finally washed your car! I keep wondering if I should go with the black aero grille or not....
I am putting in a new HU-back stereo this weekend and I'm getting a new sway bar at AMVIV. Can't wait to see your car at the next motoring...

thanks for the kind words minitor. i'm cool with everyone's opinion and i understand that everybody sees things differently. justaguyinvegas, whatever you decide ro do to yours is totally up to you and you should do what you want to do, not what you think others want to see. if you decide to do new grills, i'ld be happy to give you a hand on some weekend. the funniest thing i've heard so far was from my belgian friend who said. " the bugs don't stand a chance now."
