For those of you who don't know, the wing is attached via an adhesive tape!

I thought for $600+ installed ($450 uninstalled) that you would get a better designed piece.

Not worth it IMHO though it looks nice.

Ah yes... just a matter of time. Actually for anyone interested the wing is held on by a special industrial grade adhesive. Not tape.

opoxy

Its a heavy duty two part opoxy that they use to adhear the wing. The installation kit that you purchase comes with every thing you need exept the gun. Morristown MINI where i got everything gave me a nice price on the wing and kit. It ran me 575.00 out the door. It comes with primer, cleaner ,and the two part apoxy.I installed it myself. That wing is on for good.Very detailed instructions.I'll take pics soon and put in my gallery.

Ok so what happens if you put the wing on, leave it for a while, and then change you rmind and want to go back to stock (or some other wing)?

You're screwed, eh?

Well, if you change your mind that's your issue.

The glue is a better option because then there are no screw ports. (holes)

Cycleguru: Can you buy different color wings or does it come ready-to-paint?

Morristown MINI lists the cost at 498.00. So that's just for the wing minus the install kit?

Any tricks to getting the factory "fugly" wing off?

silver, white, black

Yea, I think your right 498 is just the wing. The wings are all carbon. But the wing tips and wing support come in black, white and silver.

I drove 2.5 hours from northern CT to buy my car @ Morristown (now Open Road Mini). Sales experience was great, The service dept was great (especially Irving, the shop forman) until recently. Lets put it this way. I have been driving on an expired NJ out-of-state temp tag for 5 days now... And my salesman is not returning my calls. Last time I talked to him, he had informed me that the Titling Clerk was recently fired for not doing her job, which sucks, but I understand (being in the biz and all). He informed me that a new temp tag is in the mail for me until they work out the permanant CT reg stuff. Fine... Where is this plate? haven't gotten it! Sorry for the off topic rant, but you can see why I am pissed- I am driving illegally! Anyways, nice one- that car is beautiful!

***Edit***
My salesman just called, all is ok. They will pay for the ticket if I get pulled over. Sorry again for the digression...

The wing looks sweet.

I have an odd request - could you post a picture with the hatch all the way open? (I have a roof rack, and the install says that's a no go. Looking at my car this weekend, the stock MCS spoiler is just slightly off of the end of the bike rack (not used much), but way off of the luggage rack (used often).

close call

Yep, you just reminded me i had to replace my 6 inch ariel with a 3inch stubby that mini mania sells it only 3"tall and it just clears the spoiler when the boot is raised.

Did you have to get a stubby/short antenna to allow the boot to open correctly?

??? I didn't pay attention to that! But I already had an Alta antenna. I don't like the OEM "radio controller" style antenna.
