Opinions please: Graphics I’m considering

I will be picking up a new 2006 PH/S MC next month and I am considering the ideas roughly rendered below for the exterior. Please give me some constructive feed back.
My plan right now is for all the graphics to be in a metallic silver that best matches the roof and the number to be the body color. I plan to keep the MINI badges on the bonnet & boot, thinking about taking off the Cooper badge to clean up the back, yellow tint fog light covers, white side markers, stealth bulbs in sides and front turn signals, side reflector smoke outs, and I'll mention a stubby antenna while I'm at it.

Thanks in advance, Rollin

I like the top picture. As you do not have any checks in the
boot or bonnet striping, and want to keep it "clean", the top
picture looks good.

looks good...

i agree, keep the checkers off, they are not really tied into anything.

if anything for the sides, do a "mustang-like" thin-thick-think stripe where you were planning the checkers....

I just got done " de badging " the rear of mine and I do like the clean look. You can only get the " cooper " emblem off tho as there are mounting holes under the wing.

I like the stripes, but not the checkers or meatball.

The stripes look great, dump the checkers and cops just love little cars running around on the street with "racing numbers" on them. Keep it clean, you can always add more. How about doing your stripes on the roof in the body color?

Love the stripes and the meatball is cool. I'd skip the checks.

Naming the car Nigel, partly after British F1 Champion Nigel Mansell, who ran with a red #5. Tried the 5 in red, but it just did not look right.

And, I want the meatball for autocross.

I agree with the others re: omitting the side checks. If going with the "meatball" consider going with the slightly smaller one from option #2.

Also, its a bit hard to tell if the stripe inside the meatball is also body color in the pic, but perhaps a black line would be nice and pickup on the black accents the car has as well.

PS: I noticed that you mention yellow tint fog covers and just a word of warning that a few people had posted that yellow film they put on the fogs had melted; you might want to search around about it before buying.

As a felllow Purple Haze/Silver Cooper owner, I took my time to respond. I am still not positive how to vote. I do know that I like the way you are going-using silver graphics that let the Purple Haze show through. I have silver checkers with PH showing through on mine. I love it (dig through the gallery if you like). I can't wait to see what you pick.

Brainstorm tonight!
What do you think of this concept versus the earlier ones?

And maybe Bridge Spoke wheels?

And perhaps change the center bonnet stripe to something like this;

Octaneguy, I hope you don’t mind me cannibalizing your bonnet for this, but I really like the proportions of your stripes.

Or just keep it simple. Decisions, decisions. Making your Mini your own is fun, especially when you have great friends to help out.

I like the second concept with the altered checks and checks in the stripe

Might as well have fun with graphics if you like them (esp if you use the number in competition) , you can always take them off later on

Thanks for everyone's input! I'm going forward with this plan;

Going to pass on the Bridge Spokes as would rather use the $$$ for an exhaust.

Maybe I'm too late, but I agree with losing the checks. However, the stripe down the back is just wierd. Whatever you do, it will be unique. Cheers!

My initial joy was tempered upon seeing my car for the first time Friday night as the graphics did not feel like I wanted them to. My wife loves the way it looks. The main thing that is bothering me is the bottom side graphics are bigger than I expected and I feel dominate the composition too much, so and I am debating if I want to have them re-done. The hood stripe also does not include the morphing from stripe to checkers I wanted, which was accomplished on the sides, and the dealership has already said they will re-do that part. I really like the 7-hole wheels. The color is off in these images, but the silver looks great with the PH.
