Isn't the GP supposed to have some suspension and body parts in Aluminum as well? If these were available then there'd be some more weight-savings for the rest of us

Edit: Sorry, answered my own question. GP will also be fitted with Aluminum Control Arms...

...as well as Aluminum Hood and Tailgate.

So... Is there any reason why these parts WOULDN'T fit a non-GP MCS??

If they let you buy the body parts, then why won't they let you buy the TC upgrade parts? I would expect you need a VIN.

Most likely the parts will fit , the trick might be getting a dealer to sell them to you.

REALLY?!? Mini dealers are THAT **** about part sales? I've purchased quite a few parts for my A3 that were originally fitted to Golf's or TT's All I had to do was go in and ask for "this" part off of "this" model

They can be. If you want a TC part, I think you need a VIN
If you want a MC40 part, I know you need a VIN
Most likely, since it IS limited production, I would bet you need a VIN.

Yeah I think chows4us is correct, I know this is correct for example on the BMW M3 CSL, you need a VIN to buy OEM CSL stuff.

Well that sucks (Not that I have the extra $$$ laying about to just go in and buy a new bonnet and hatch ) Maybe I can use my crappy German to convince a local dealer to sell me some parts

Thx

Hopefully since it is JCW there will be other ordering options. Anyone know if the GP can be done like the JCW (dealer installed) or do you have to buy a whole new car? Sorry if this was answered else where just haven't found many details.
