Waterfall Lighting? Pics please!

I've done some searching and haven't been able to find anything more than a description of the waterfall lighting. does anyone have any pics of this at night? The only times I've been in a MINI were bright sunny days at the dealership. It surely sounds cool, but I'm having a problem envisioning it.

thanks!

It's nothing special. Just the lights slowly dimmming out.

really? I thought it was on all the time casting a slight glow on the instruments. that said, even if I'm wrong does anyone have picture of the interior at night with the lights on?

they are small LEDs in the door handle cups, on the roof where the clock used to be and under the toggle bank.

it casts a pretty nice orange glow over the dash board.

hard to take pics of unless you have a very nice camera....

All MINIs have lights under the toggle switch panel that glow (very) dim at night down onto the cupholders.

For the '05s the clock in the headliner was replaced with more lights, including what MINI/BMW call "waterfall lighting" that shines all the way down from the roof to the cupholder area. A very subtle glow ...

If you hold your hand under the '05 lights at roof level you will see two orange dots; as you lower your hand toward the cupholders the dots get more diffuse and dim ...

OK. I tried to take some pics but it is tricky ...

Here is the car interior; you can see that the lighted area around the cupholders is not bright compared with the speedo/tach dials (and those dials are not at full brightness):

Closer still:

This last picture gives you the best idea of what the waterfall lighting does - see the illumination inside the cupholder, on the rubber grips ...

NOTE: My under-toggle-switch lights are much brighter than a standard MINI (see here) and this helps brighten the cupholders more than they are on an unmodified '05.
Realistically, the waterfall lighting is so subtle as to be almost invisible!

Oh thats what they call waterfall lighting. lol

It's alright...again nothing special. It does cast a nice orange glow on the automatic shifter and cupholders.

What I really like on the '05s is the other lighting in that cluster on the headliner - the ones where you press a button to turn on a light shining down onto either the driver or passenger seat. They're really great because they don't light up the whole inside of the car like most dome lights. The passenger can look at a map or something, and the light isn't nearly as distracting or blinding.

The rear reading lights are like that also. You can turn them on without blinding the driver.

Great pics Ian, thanks a lot! I love all the little things that they designed into the car like this... always helpful but if you didn't know to look for them you would think it was normal. then then the next car you're in you'd wonder just what (else) was lacking
