Chrome Bonnet Scoop and Badge rack & Badges

Any recommendations on where to purchase said items? I am looking for quality and fair pricing. Mini Mania has them, but they seem to be the most expensive. Are they better than others?

The minimania chrome scoop just sticks to the existing scoop. At least my dealer had one and tried to sell it to me showing it on the car. FYI just in case your looking for a true replacement.

Mossmini.com for the chrome scoop insert. If you can find one, a true
replacement that is chromed is $$$$. I sent mine to a shop in California to be chromed for $175. The Moss insert looks just as good or better.

Try www.triple-c.com for the badges. They are kinda pricey but nice.

Um, I hate to point out the obvious, but did you look at the NAM home page? Pilo just announced a chrome hood scoop in the vendor announcements earlier today...

I also bought an OEM scoop at the dealer and had it chromed at a shop in California. They charged me $70 for chroming the scoop and a fuel door (my S convertible uses the standard fuel door.)

I just suggested Moss because they are a few dollars cheaper and I've
purchased several items from them - they have terrific customer service.

(Disclaimer: Not saying Pilo doesn't..... )

Steve - you're fortunate to find somewhere that can chrome that
so inexpensively. A couple of years ago, nobody wanted to
attempt it because it was plastic. Let us know how it works out.

I'm just shopping for this item myself - from what I can gather, the Moss piece is an overlay - goes on top of your existing hood scoop. Pilo tells me that his is a replacement piece.

Personally I think the replacement piece will better match the overall profile of the original - the overlay would have to sit higher and look a little different.

The prices are close, I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I think I'm going for the Pilo scoop...

The hood scoop came out nice. The fuel door didn't look quite as good, but I put it on anyway. It has a few "bumps" in the chrome, but they seem to be smoothing out with cleaning and waxing.

Both the scoop and the fuel door were purchased from the MINI parts department and sent to be coated. They came primered, not painted, so that may make them cheaper to chrome coat. Here's the pics:
