Interior/Exterior Sparco Milano Prestige Questions
Sparco Milano Prestige Questions
Been searching on here and Mini2.com for more info about the fitting of Sparco Milano Prestige seats.
I found this pic detailing the retrofitting of the JCW kits (available in Europe and Japan) which was very interesting.

1) From the above picture, it seems that the seat attaches to the bracket (part # 00499038DX/SX) which then attaches to the stock sliders. Is this the case?
2) It also seems that the stock handle for forward/backward motion is retained. Is this true?
3) If one were to install a non-JCW Sparco Milano Prestige, would one be able to use the above mentioned handle?
4) Can anyone confirm exactly what size bolts are included with the hardware kit?
Spoke to Tushar @ MaximVelocity.com and he told me that I had to purchase brackets, sliders, and a tab kit ($90, $49, and $52 [need two of each part listed]) for $382 for necessary accessory hardware.
Turns out the DX/SX part number above is for a "flat" install in which the seat height is not adjustable.

The parts he quoted me (5002058F,5002059F tabbed brackets, 500 for tabs/base adapter, 00493 for sliders, hardware kit 50001) are for the "tab" install and allow you to manually adjust the seat height but you have to take apart the whole seat to do it.

Also found Punkey's how-to which seems to cover pretty much everything except for the few questions I had above...

Randy's how-to was somewhat helpful but all the pictures are missing.

I would really appreciate any responses.
Thanks!

I can't make sense of the illustration but I have installed my Milano without instruction. It's very straight forward...bolt Sparco frame/slider unit onto the seat and bolt assembly onto the floor. That's it

Just wondering, when you took out your stock seats, did you look at the height adjustment parts of the stock seat to see if you could fit them to the sparcos? I saw pics of your interior and it looks great.
With the bracket from the JCW kit, it appears that you keep the stock sliders. Did you have to order the Sparco sliders? I spoke to one vendor about the bracket that was made by Sparco for the Mini and he said it was backordered.
Hm........
I didn't want to confuse myself. Sparco supplied an appropriate adapter seat bracket for their seat. I assembled it, removed the OEM seat and wrapped them in plastic, then installed the new assembly...never looked back
Do like me and you'll be ok...stop worrying

I'm still looking around for someone who actually has them in stock. Evidently Italy (the country) seems to be on vacation this month and the seats are on backorder......
The thing is, I like the stock seat height adjustment feature....and when my fiancee drives, she needs to raise it quite a bit....so I'd like to be able to have the option to adjust the seat height.....
One more question - what kind of harness did you get? 4 point? DOT approved? Where did they attach/bolt in to? I tend to carry lots of junk in my back seat with the seats folded down so I'd like to know if you *have* to plug them into the rear seatbelt buckle.
Also do they clip into the stock belt clip? Isn't there some kind of sensor attached to the stock clip so that the car adjusts it's timing of the airbag deployment?
Thanks.....

Ordered my seats......$3150 for two pair, brackets, sliders, and hardware kit (non-tabbed flatbased Italian bracket).
For anyone interested, here is a pair of "new" ones on Ebay by a guy that seems knowledgeable....
They just don't look new to me but if they look new to you go for it!
Comes with the sliders.....
