Okay, I searched the archives and read the prior posts, and think I am more confused now than I was before! I am a newbie at all this Mini stuff, but here's the story in a nut shell:

I have a 05 MCs without the rear foglight. I want to install the 02-04 clear taillamps which Alan at outmotoring.com provided to me. From what I understand I can just install these and the brake lights, parking lights and turn signals will work fine, but the reverse lights will not as the 02-04 models had this routed elsewhere (i.e. a different light I am assuming was comparable to the rear foglight located on the bumper). Now I don't want to have to be backing up completely blind, so is there a simple way to change the bulbs/wiring harness to allow for a backup light to come on when I throw it in reverse??

Also will I be able to do the brake light mod with the 02-04 clear tailights on my 05??

i have had this done on my car for a few months now.

believe it or not, the top "fog light" that is now clear on your aero tail lights works as a reverse light on an 05!!!!!

use a pair of clear buls for the top two spots and a red LED blubs for the brake light and it all works out nicely. I still added a reverse light to the bumper because i always liked the way that looked, but i didnt have one on my 05. ask minirolls, he has a nice plug so you can jump off one of the reverse wires on the tail light.
