Interior/Exterior Driving Lights Don't work
Driving Lights Don't work
4 hours of installing later my new driving lights don't work. That harness is so complicated I don't even know where to start. Any suggestions for something obvious I missed? I made a simple, custom harness extension to put the switch next to the handbrake where it belongs but it is getting no power.
The only place I really questioned is the crimp to the BC1 module. The color combo of the wires were the same but. graphically speaking, the wires were not an exact match. Of course that module is the biggest ***** to get to.
Tell me it's something simple that I missed

is this the factory one? If so, don't you need to get it programmed?
I have the Piaa540, and I hooked up the trigger wire to one of the
switched fuses inside the cabin so I can turn on the 540's if the car
is in the ON position.
You might want to check if your ground is good too if it is
aftermarket.

I installed the factory driving lights myself - followed the BMW/MINI instructions and they work perfectly. I only need to have the low beams on to activate them.
Biggest problem was finding the BC1 and getting at it - late night search here, and on MINI2, showed me where to find it. And, I had to add a bolt under the bonnet in the cowl area to get a good ground since the ground lug shown in the installation instructions wasn't there on an '05 MCC,

Yes the're factory and no they don't work on any beam. The fuse is fine BTW. I wish they provided an explanation for all the extra connections so one could have some help in troubleshooting.
Aftermarket lights would have been fairly straight forward to figure out.

My instructions specifically say they don't need programing. I'll call them to verify if I can't figure it out. My biggest concern was that I crimped to the wrong wire at the BC1. The wire from the harness is yellow with green stripe. The wire I crimped to was evenly yellow and green, not yellow with green stripe. There is another wire at the BC1 that is yellow with a blue stripe. It looks like a closer match, an exact match if your lighting isnt good, except for the color issue. Of course the BC1 is a monsterous ***** to get to so based on Murphy's law I'm thinking that is where I screwed up. Any thoughts?
BTW: Thanks to all you smug people pointing out how your aftermarket install went fine in this thread.
