I'm ordering an Indi Blue MCS with white roof and mirrors and 17" run flats. Which will look better (in your opinion) - white or silver wheels? I placed the order with silver and I'm thinking about changing to white.

AND - I also ordered the white bonnet stripes too!

I personally think that red, blue green and yellow coopers with the white roof look awesome with the white rims. The silver and silk green coopers look better with silver rims.

I´d go with white, specially since you ordered the bonnet stripes

I have pretty much the same layout as you've ordered (except no stripes). I think the alloy wheels look FAR better than the whites. The whites add a "toyish" quality to the car that I don't find attractive. Either way, be prepared to turn LOTS of heads.

im not crazy about those white wheels, my opinion, of course, but they look a bit cheap to me. But really think about it cause this is something that will bother you in the future if you dont get the ones you really like.

Just IMO, but I think if you get the White roof, the white wheels look good. If you get black on the roof, silver looks good. It all opinion.

white wheels look more plastic and cartoonish
they're also more difficult to keep clean (bmw brake dust! )
"everyone has silver" - overheard
silver's will never look as clean as white's
to each is own, it's your MINI, get whatever you want, Motor on!

I wish black or dark silver wheels were an option. White wheels look good with the white roof, but be prepared to clean OFTEN. Or plan on buying some new "low dust" brake pads soon. There are several brands out there. One good one is EBC "Greenstuff" Kevlar Brake Pads.

Both look great, but I say white all the way. The MINI is already beautiful, but add the white wheels and nobody can look away. From the looks of it, white is not chosen very much by owners either because of maintenance and cleanliness issues. It's not really a problem for me because I would clean the silver just as much as I clean my whites. As for the car looking like a toy, it is a toy. It's cute. People love cute. For me, white gives the MINI the rallycar look. I'm a world rally cross nut. I love the gold wheels on the new WRC blue Subaru WRX STi. But really though, you can't go wrong either way. Come on, you've got a MINI Cooper S

Whiter would look better BUT, they sure get dirty looking faster. I know dust is dust but the silver hides it a little better than the white. Good Luck.

Go with the Silver.
Your going to have break dust problems with both, but the Silver shows less.

The white wheels look very sharp when its clean, but give it a few hours and the wheels will look dirtier than the body. Dirty wheels shows that you're Motoring! But, if you're a neat freak, who cares what color the wheels are. Motor on!

I ordered my MCS the same as yours. The dealer tried to steer me away from the white rims because they get dirty so quickly. I took a look at a couple of MCS with white wheels, and those that had been driven any significant distance had fairly dirty rims. So, I decided to take the dealers advice.

The white is nice, but if this is going to be your driver, I'd go with silver rims.

Just my 2 cents

Get silver -- these brakes dust like crazy, with white you'd be cleaning your wheels twice a week. With silver I am cleaning mine once a week *wink*

Cheers

Thanks for the advice.

I ordered... silver.

My production date was moved up one week on MINIUSA.com (from 2/21 to 2/14).

For those with MINIs, did that estimated production date represent the "actual" production date???

I want to get black wheels with a black roof myself. I think that would look really good with the chili red or indi blue.

Our first MCS was CR with silver wheels and we were very close to ordering No.2 as a DS with silver then saw a CR with white wheels and painted calipers and it was HOT. Needless to say our March delivery will be here with white wheels and a new set of brake pads and some caliper paint when she pulls into the garage -

Lily,

I´m assuming you are a girl and usually girls like to coordinate their shoes with their outfit, so... a Mini with coordinated shoes will look sharp.

But some rims look better in white than others. The more plain 15 inch (7 hole) rims look great in white and very very boring in silver, but the 17 inch rims look great in silver.

I have a Chili red with white roof and bonnet stripes, my rims are the 7 hole in silver. I am definitely getting those rims painted white.

My production date was mid-January and she was actually born on January 4. If your date has moved up a week, believe it and pass out the cigars!

Glad to hear you got silver. Yes, the white rims make the car look like a toy, and yes, the MCS is a toy. But, it's a CLASSY toy. White's just not classy.

Congratulations. You're soon to be a proud parent to a 2525 pound bouncing baby MCS. It doesn't get any better than that!

What do you mean, white isn't classy?!? Hussy Beige may not be classy, but virgin white?

(I got Indy Blue, White Top, White Stripes and White Wheels. I'm going to get some silver 15"s for winter when washing is going to be less frequent.)

And I got the car because I love it's toylike nature. I wanted to exagerate this look, but that is totally my own freakish nature.
