About done with colour mods

Got the blacked out tail-lights on. And the wife noticed them 1 day after the install. No Christmas presents for me this year apparently.

I'll try to get one that's not so washed out later and post it tomorrow. At least this one shows the yellow antenna properly.

Until your picture, I'd never seen blacked out tails that I'd really liked. BUT, that is perfect!

Antenna is cool as well, very nice!

Looks nice. Is that a stock antenna? Let's see a close up of that. Now there is two of us.

It is a stock antenna, painted "John Deere Yellow" with Krylon "Farm & Implement" paint. It's kind of rubbery paint and has been on the car for over a month with no signs of wear or fading yet.
Here is a closeup of the antenna. It's not 100% perfectly colour matched to Liquid Yellow, but it's pretty damn close to the roof stripes which also are not 100% matched to LY.

And here is a better colour saturated shot of the back of the car.

Thankoo vermush. I'm going for a whole two-tone effect. The whole car exterior is yellow or black, except for the small amount of chrome.
I've been adding black where there used to be yellow and yellow where there used to be black. I think I'm done now. Besides, my wife is looking over my shoulder as I'm typing this.

Well, I've had a rubber chikkin hanging from my rear-view mirror for years, rubber chikkins are inherently funny, you know, so when some bastard stole my flaming eyeball antenna topper, I decided to see how long a chikkin would last. The eyeball lasted 3 cars (one was a temp until the MINI arrived) and 4 years.

Till it gets lost?

Might have to do something about that chicken and it's proposed longevity, I know where you work. Nice lights, so when are you getting your yellow tires?

Fine! I'll superglue the chikkin on then.
I might contact the company that was working on the tire colour. Last time I talked to them, they said June and it's June.

great ideas on your mini

I had a cherry antenna topper (from walmart of course) and some ***** stole it. I had it secure on my miata for months and months. One day i went into the store, and came back out and it was gone. a $1 antenna topper.

On the mini, i have the pinwheel electrical tape holding it on the antenna, and then some thick rubber wire cover stuff to hold it on.

Not only that, i stuck tape on the tip of the stick holding the pinwheel securing it on there. Not so no one will steal it, but it's been famous for flying off and wacking tail gaiters on their hoods... oops.
