A friend of mine has a few long boards, 9-5, 9-10, and longer. He lives one block maybe 1 and ½ blocks from the beach and has racks for his boards.
I don’t have any pictures but laugh when ever I see them. I’d be walking my board to the beach to surf myself.
I have to stick the 9-5 in the back of the MINI just get there with the lid up. Only a few miles BTW.

Can you open the sunroof with the rack on?
If you can, does the rack's wind deflector have any impact (positive or negative) on the noise and buffeting inside the car when the sunroof's open and you're going over 50?
Thanks - nice pic!
P.S. Speaking of board lengths, my wife has an uncle who used to build fiberglass dinghies. I remember him telling me that sailboats under 12 feet didn't have to be registered in California. Our MINIs are under 12 feet!

Hi,
I don't mind at all, that's why we're all here to ask questions. hee hee.
When you get racks you will have alot of noises for AN OPEN SUN ROOF, when it's close its ok. I would reccommend you getting the fairings, it does help alot.
Now I'v taken a few pictures for you so you know what to expect.
WITH RACK ON:
-I can open and tip up the sun roof with no problem.(see pictures)
-noise is ok but it's noiser on the highway. I only open the tip on highways but on regular road I open it all the way.
WITH SURF BOARD ON (pads)
-tip up BUT can't open the sun roof due to the space beneath the pads.(see pict)
--Noise is high especially on highway. Sunroof close.
hope this helps
