My Latest Mod

Well, I guess it's not a mod but an add-on. It's a static-cling Union Jack that covers my moonroof. I wanted something that would keep the interior a little cooler this summer so this appeared to be the ticket. It's very a good quality thick vinyl and it is very easy to apply. I squirted the glass and both sides with slightly soapy water then used a squeegy and moist cloth to get the bubbles out. It has held on at 90MPH with no signs of wanting to give up the ghost. Not too bad for a $70 Ebay special IMHO. Plus it's easy to remove when I get tired of it.

Rick, Wanda had the same static-cling sunroof flag, and when YuccaPatrol and I were motoring from Birmingham, AL to the Florida panhandle last year, both of our MINIs' static cling flags began to peel off. Once they flipped back a bit in the heat, they got tweaked and were not in good enough shape to re-install. But, while Wanda's lasted, I sure liked it!

Sweetie, don't be paranoid, just be aware that the static-cling flags are only a temporary/non-permanent design solution. I loved mine while it behaved!

Looks Good!

Had a similar cling-on graphic a little over a year ago. FYI - the adhesion fails at 115. Don't ask how I know.

Well, I wasn't going that fast when mine failed, but I was driving in the wet heat of South Alabama/North Florida, so maybe that explains it?

The rear one took flight on the New Jersey Turnpike, the front just outside of Richmond. I interpreted that action as an effort by my MINI to fairly distribute its bits to the North and the South.
