Interior/Exterior Neon or LED Underbody kit
I really dig my neon
I *really* dig my blue under-car neon and strobe lights in the wheel wells. I've got blue neon in the footwells. I've gotten so used to driving with the neon on inside the car (at night) that if I'm driving my wife's Benz it feels weird. Kerpow...how is it now?

It's your car. Do what makes you happy, and have fun with it.
Hehehhe I had my first car, an '86 escort EXP all decked out in purple neon underbody lights when they were first coming out - really looked sweet back then! After getting pulled over THREE times by the SAME cop, they had to go! The tickets were more than the kits! lol
last time i had the car up on the lift, i dont think i can find room to mount them where they cant be seen.....as much as id like to have them, i like the way they look, i dont think i can hide them.
last thing i want is to see a neon tube hanging underneath the car, now that looks tacky....

Crutchfield has an LED kit that seems like it would be thinner & lower-profile than neon tubes. The example car they use to show the product installed is even a MINI!

Every now and then, I'm seized with the notion to get the kit and put it on, just for the sheer hilarious h3ll of it!

Here's the link to the Crutchfield photos page, for the curious and "concerned!"

i wonder what the mounts look like.....
perhaps you could two way tape them to the frame for a very low profile mounting without a big, bulky hangar to use.....
i might look into this one, it looks promising......
i gotta go look underneath my car to see where i could tuck a tube like that....
my only other problem is finding a path to route the wires where they wont be seen and they will get into the boot area without drilling any holes....hmmm..... time to pull some carpet and take a peek.....

The manual is downloadable from the Crutchfield page. If I recall correctly, the installation instructions recommend putting the tubes up with small screws & brackets, which would mean some amount of drilling. However, I've heard of some folks installing them "temporarily" using zip ties.
As for routing the wires, the lights have a variety of patterns and options, controlled by a hand-held switch/program selector. So I'm more inclined to look for a route through the front firewall, as opposed to the boot, to avoid having to route more wire from back-to-front inside the passenger compartment. But that's just me.
Maybe we need to recruit GBMini as official Engineer of Bling!
IF I ever do get them, I'll certainly put together a "How-To" presentation. But at the moment, some other priorities are taking precedence, so this remains a fun little "what-if" idea.
But if someone else does it, I'd be very interested in seeing how they go in, how the wires get routed in & out, and ultimately, how they look "in action!"
