Jason: that looks hot. The whole effect is well executed.

Tony: sorry to hear about the dear strike. Was your car driveable after that?

Nice,

J, great looking car! I really like Pepper White and Black. Very well put together (It really needs some Hsport camber plates though )

I hear the H-sport plates are crappy actually If I get some Ill go for K-Macs probably.

Thanks for the compliments on the car.... looks so much better than it did when I first got it..... so, is it not "cute" anymore?

Hi Jason, is that my car?! j.k.

I love the front splitter and the side skirt, but never have the $$ for it. :(
Anyway, nice ride!! Now, your MCS looks much different (better) than mine, your mom will recognize your car easier.

Looks awesome JC Do I see black heat shrink around the standoffs? Where did you get that crazy idea I think I'll have to do the side skirts too.

Tony...WTF happened Don't tell me you had the Hornet wired in reverse to "attract" animals Just kidn...I'm sorry to hear about your interception. Was the Hornet on and if so, give us the details. Hope everything will be ok.

I thought you might ask!

I've always used it at night while driving home in the canyon, and never even saw a deer.... so it's probably working. I worked from home this morning, and left around 10:30am. About one minute from leaving my driveway, while accelerating out of turn, 3 very surprised deer awaited me .

I actually amazed myself at how well I (and the MINI) was able to dodge them, at least two of them... One of the deer wasn't so lucky; and mostly because he ran back in front of me! I was however able to hit only his hind quarters with my front left portion of my MCS. I knew by the sound there was damage, and from my mirror, the deer was still very much alive...

I pulled-over, and assisted the deer while his buddies/family watched very closely. They were all very small. I went back home, got some supplies, and fabricated a splint for the guy. He head-butted and kicked me a few times while trying to help him, but I suppose he was quite scared. He was able to stand-up, and he ran off (with the bad leg elevated) upon hearing my MCS fire-up later.

Damage to my MCS is with some plastic in the lower wheel well area (front, left), and my orange driving light is shattered/gone. All of my lights work though. To be honest, I really didn't have much time to evaluate the damage. I just did some triage on the deer, and my MCS, and began my commute, again...

After proceeding, literally 10 seconds later, in a straight-away, I see two other deer! I quickly flipped the toggle for that sonic device, and the deer bolted into the trees. It really does work .

Lesson learned though... activate it day and night while driving on rural roads.

For those who don't know about this device:

Kudos to MSFITOY for bringing to my attention .

Whew...I'm glad it wasn't too bad. I was afraid I was going to receive a letter bomb for giving you bad advice True enough...I always turn it on day and night unless I'm in dense urban areas...unless there's kids around, then I leave them on

Good to hear Sid. I thought before you had it tied into your lights, so I was going to advise you otherwise .

Jason, sorry to divert from your thread! I'm still in the office and need to get my butt home...

Hey...take it easy there...don't want every Mini with this cool device Peter would disagree however Give him a call and he'll set you up.

Rick-Anderson...The splitter is a modern (more efficient) version of the classic air dam. The extension splits the high air pressure in front of the car and forces it to travel over the top, thereby, creating down pressure.

No, just flat black paint from orchard supply. 3 coats of it and no chips to report. The threads are still silver, but the rest is black. Yours are black also? You used heat shrink though eh?? Good idea

That's easy...the Hamman is Uber expensive and sits much lower which will eat up your Uber expensive (non functional) device in no time. Then you can buy the M7 Or you could just buy the M7 first and save your self grief

LOL...try the shrink trick. It locks the nuts and protects the finish at the same time
