Introducing Mini2-D2

I went a slightly different route for adorning the top of my 05 CR/W MCS:

And just in case you aren't a Star Wars fan, here is a reference pic:

Cool. From the title, I was kind of expecting an R2 roof graphic. That looks great. Now you always have a co-pilot.

Thanks!

I just took it up to interstate speeds today for the first time. I was a little paranoid, and so had a friend follow me home from a meeting. It didn't move a millimeter.

It really doesn't add to the sound at all, even up to 78 mph. I was surprised, actually...

LOL that's great! But it looks like it was trash day and you're the only one who hasn't brought in the cans! (probably too busy motorin).

Peace,
Tatt

:-) Actually, it is my neighbors (you can see it is closer to his driveway). Of course, I USUALLY am the last one to move my cans in, but since I was taking pictures, I moved them in early.

Of course, for the observant, you may notice that my R2 IS technically a trash can lid. So I was taking the 'trash out' and motoring at the same time

upon review I figured it was neighbor's...

OHH!, that reminds me I promised the missus that I would break up some old construction materials (and get them out to the curb) which I had "strategically relocated" to a spot leaning against the side of the house, when I performed my initial Garage Prep for new MINI! Alas, there they sit (or more precisely, lean)... I love that woman! (better get some flowers on the way home, to off-set my procrastination).

We have much to be grateful for,
Tatt

R2-D2 is Skywalker's "Artoo" unit, I'd get my own.

Besides, a red "Artoo" is just sportier ;-)

Cheers,

Matthew Z.

What'll they think of next? Please know I am kidding. Your pics made me laugh, very creative. I like the ad on ESPN where R2 is beaming Princess Leah onto the desk during SportsCenter.

No lights I'm afraid. Just a painted trash can lid, some pvc and the magnets from a couple of old XM satellite antennas to keep it up there.

Right now it is easily removeable (for when my wife is in the car). If I were to add wiring for lights (and for a junkyard auto-window motor for motion), it would make it a much more time consuming task. But who knows, I may do it anyway...

What'll I think of next? Why, the wings to mount on back when I am not driving down the road (too wide), of course
