How do you modify the center console to fit the 2005's?

People...I ran a search and didn't see any answers.

I talked to Brian at Classic and he says the Center Console Tray should fit in the 2005 with some modifications although he couldn't say what those modifications are. Can anyone tell me how to fit the tray into the 2005?

Thanks
Matt

I don't think you will be able to as the rear cupholder has a center mounted screw under the rubber mat and there are some major structural changes to the bracing below the actual console. It might be worth trying, but it may be a hassle. Other than that it is pretty much the same...

Matt, are you talking about upgrading from a previous year to an '05 style??

If so, I have done it without any mods at all. I have an '04 MCS and added the "under toggle" storage area and a new e-brake surround (the whole piece). It wasn't difficult at all, just remove and replace.
Talk to the parts guys at Classic and they will tell you everything you need.

I have a 2005 on order. I was told it didn't have a console built in. Now outmotoring's website says 2005's come with it. I'm asking the dealer right now.

I have no idea what outmotoring is talking about in the post above about the rear cupholder. I don't see how the center console could affect the rear cupholder.

Not to sure what part your talking about. Both parts shown here are stock on 05's, and can be added to early cars with modifications. Hope that helps.

Going with the center console oddments trays (pn 51-16-0-305-535) is a cheaper approach
