I just recived a email from my sales person about the chrome grill bonnet & bumper. He said the hardes part about it is doin the lower part of the front grill. The cost to install including parts was $550.00 is this price fair? And what is so hard about installing.

Are you talking about changing the Cooper S grill to a chrome one? Moss sells the chrome Cooper S grill for about $100 including postage. It is about an hours work if you are slow and have never done it.
It depends on what you are comfortable with. You have to take off the front bumper. It would be similar to these instructions for fitting the aero grill, but without cutting and modifying the bumper: http://www.motoringfile.com/howto/MI...ll_install.pdf
Out Motoring and Moss sell the kits for about the same price.

Chrome Grill
I am half way through changing out my stock "S" grill to the chrome kit from Out Motoring.
The top portion (Bonnet) is relatively easy but be mindful that you need to remove the existing chrome trim to get to the color vanes that are sandwiched between it and the black plastic backing panel. The nuts go around the full perimeter of the grill and are stamped sheet metal nuts with nylon washers threaded around threaded plastic studs coming out of the back of the black plastic backing panel. Somethines the nuts do not want to come off because they have become stripped on the stud (very easy to do).
Once you have the crome off, you need to gently massage the body-colored vanes off of the backing panel where it is held in place by a variety of barbed plastic tabs. Be careful not to break the tabs. Work from one end or the other toward the opposite end.
Snap the chrome vanes in to the black backing panel and re-install the chrome trim. Insert the assembly back into the bonnet and re-install the nylon washers and nuts making sure that you do not over-tighten and strip the plastic studs any more than they probably are already.
I have not yet tackled the lower grill vane. It is much the same in that you need to remove the existing chrome trim panel. The problem is that it looks like you need to remove the whole from bumper cover to do so. I am planning on a mesh lower grill and possibly an Alta light bar so I thought that I would hold off until I set aside time to do all of the bumper-related tasks at the same time.
It can be done and there may be threads here on other subjects (aero grill installation, etc.) that will guide you through removing the front bumper cover.
Good luck.
