Quad Rally lights

Anyone have a current quad rally light set up? They look phenomenal to me and it would set my mini apart from the others in the area. Everyone in the Rally light thread is using mounts that are no longer sold and can't find anyone selling a set-up. Best route to take?

Do you know if the first one will work with the just a grill? I've seen on some others that you have to get a jcw grill and then cut it up a bit.

did you READ the info on the listings?

" Will require minor trimming of the factory grill to allow the bracket to protrude."

I did in fact read the information on the listings, and I also checked what vechicles it would fit. As it says it would fit the S and the Justa models which have two different grills I was just trying to clear something up.

You don't "HAVE" to get a new grill to use that kit. You can choose to use your own grill, but you will have to modify it for the brackets to fit.

Update on my decision. Bought two sets of the Hella 500 lights and four individual mounting brackets that are set up to go through the lower grill. I like how low they are and wouldn't have gone another way.

That looks great! How is the light output at night? And what brackets did you end up using?

The Light output is really nice, I had them done just in time for the dragon and went out by myself the first night and the woods were painted in light. I ended up using the independent brackets from outmotoring..

I bought two sets of these
https://www.detroittuned.com/mini-co...ight-brackets/

However I bought them from outmotoring. They are the same brackets, I just couldn't find them on the OM site.

Mounted four Hella 500 driving lights on them
https://www.outmotoring.com/mini_coo...005750952.html

I actually had a garage put them on for me because I lacked the tools to mount them like they are in the picture. You have to have a pretty serious drill to get through the bumper support which is what mine are mounted on. They come through the lower grill and up rather than through the top like most setups I've run across. Be aware that the dimensions of this set up prevent it from being run on an S/JCW as the lights will cover up the brake ducts.

Wondering if you could buy just one set... and use a bar to connect the two to mount all 4 driving lights?

I agree that the 4 driving lights look cool. But I build my custom light bar to see on night time Dragon Runs. Also fully removable, mounts thru the bottom seat of the R50’s grill.

I installed mine the weekend before the dragon last year for just that purpose. I also uncap them for long drives where i'm on the interstate at night. I'm sure that you could just buy two mounts with a bar between them but there is just barely enough room for the lights on the mounts because of the shape of the bumper on mine. I think if you installed a bar there would be a noticeable gap between the lights and the car. Could be wrong though, would have to look at the car later.
