Interchangeable Consoles with Later years?

Hey guys, have a 2004 mini S. I have the 2 piece center console and noticed the 05-06 seems to have a nicer one piece console. Are these interchangeable or are there significant installation differences between the two?

Going to move you the Gen1 Mod area, should get some better views. Remember that our Gen1s are so old there are members here that were in diapers when they were produced.

and I am not referring to the grown up diapers that some here wear . . . . .

1st Gen facelifts have a 3 section center console ... a utility box between the downtubes, the cup holder and gear shift surround and the e-brake section which has a little storage tray.

I have the oddments trays in my 2002 MCS ...

Unfortunately these are NLA.

Instructions for fitting the utility box in a pre-facelift ...

I'm pretty sure the e-brake section can be retrofitted too, although the TPMS reset button is in a different location.

Thanks for the response. I see... that tray under the handbrake was making me believe some consoles were a full one piece. I'm simply missing that section. I need to replace the back part of the console and wasn't sure if I could interchange with a 06 console. In other words, I'm good.

I think you'll need to order everything except the e-brake boot ...
