Headlight options

looking to see if anyone has done this, and what they think-

I am not dropping 1k into the projector kits, so Im thinking Im just going to do LED in a 6k color and was looking at either headlight armor blue overylays, or doing that very thin film overlay in blue from ECSTuning (Dragonskins or something like that)

has anyone done a quality LED kit? I know with these you gotta use that flicker eliminator thing- where did you mount your if you did? anyone do the overlays???

pics and brand would be greatly appreciated

My CM came with halogen lights and I want to convert to LED. They are H7's. To do this I need resistors so the electronics do have a hissy. (I tried them and got all kinds of warnings).

To stop this, either I go with the resistors for each light or get the Bummer App and turn off the warnings. Since I'm waiting for the final bills to come in for my wife total left knee replacement, I have time to consider both in cost and efforts.

The resistors will get warm and can't be inside the headlight housing, I've found an area where I can drill a hole to run the wires thru and seal with silicon sealant. Then fix them to a convenient location. Thus keeping the warnings.

Or the Bimmer and the hell with the warnings and less work. Either way it works.

If someone has a better way ... I'm listening .......

Going to move this to the Mod area. Trying to do a little cleaning up here in the Countryman subforum until somebody volunteers to help out.

Yea, I know for LED there is a resistor needed, I know low quality ones get somewhat hot, I was hoping someone had done a quality set and placed them successfully inside the housing- theres definitely enough room in there lol.

I am one of those sticklers for certain things oddly, dont really like drilling holes into things. but if thats what needs to happen then so be it.
AnOldBiker: do you have a pic of where you mounted yours? what brand did you get?

does anyone have any experience with the Dragon Laminates?

anyone ever try these from ECSTuning? or the 75 watt counterpart?

any idea how hot the drive/resistor box gets? I'd really like to mount these inside the housing to keep a more clean look and not drill the housing

I bought my LEDs and when I tried them I got the warning on the dash. I removed them and bought some Nokya 7k halogen bulbs for now. http://www.xenondepot.com/h7-nokya-h...bs-p/nokh7.htm

I need to get a set of resistors first than install. The wife had a major operation and everything is on hold for now.

(I can't stand the yellow lights, and in the country, with the deer being fawn color, at night they are hard to see)

Yeah, I have tried a set of LED, but they threw a code too- came on and worked fine, looked good, but I cant deal with that warning light

I may try those ones from ECSTuning. maybe I'll turn them on after I get them and see how hot the driver/resistor pack gets.

Still would be interested if anyone has pics or experience using the Dragon laminates products.
