05' V1 hardwire

2005 people .. How do you hardwire your V1? On the prior year I know you can just use the wires that go to the clock .. but on the 05 the clock isn't there. what to do? I tried other wires .. didn't work ..

I would like to know this as well. My MINI arrives in a week and I'm going to want to hardwire the V1 I already have from a previous car.

First off, I don't recomend tapping off the clock power. It's not always enough voltage to power the V1, at least it isn't in my 2002 Mini. The safest and among the easier mods is to use one of the "add-a-fuse" kits for sale at your local auto parts store and run the wires up the A-pillar tucking the wire in. I installed my V1 within 10 mins this way.
