Question Door Lock Pin Accent

I bought one of these, and I'm pretty sure that the default ones are supposed to be removed, but I can't figure out how to do so. I tried twisting it, and pulling, and nothing. I'm sure I have to use something like a wrench or something, but I want to know before I end up damaging something. I usually have the dealer install things because if they mess it up, it's on them.

I have no experience with these whatsoever, but upon first glance, I would assume they just fit over the existing pin? Like I said, I could be completely, utterly wrong.

I actually took it to the dealer and the guy had to fumble with it a bit and just yanked it out. Nothing broke! But rather have them break it than me lol

As far as I know, they just fit on top of the existing pins...

They completely replace the old door pins. In the package should be a small black MINI decal. Roll the windows down for easier access; wrap the decal around the door pin and use some pliers to pull straight up. Will pull right off with some effort.

Then you just push down the new ones. Test the fit by locking and unlocking the doors, when I did it the passenger side kept falling off when I locked the door, but I twisted it around a couple times and it's on their perfect now.

great video. All junior car boosters will appreciate how easy the new lock makes slipping a coat hanger thru the frameless door and giving a quick YANK. What will this do to the future sale of SLIMJIMS in urban areas?
