Need under hood Insulation suggestions

A mouse got to my underhood insulation. I have been looking for something to replace it with that is a dress up/upgrade. Any suggestions? Of course anything there would have be heat resistant. JCW or Union Jack?

My JCWs have no underhood insulation.

Remove it all for the high performance look.

Are you looking for something to just dress up your underhood or for hood heat reduction or both?

OK, I was in the same boat - wanted something to reduce hood temperature and dress up the under hood area a bit. I went with the late model R56 hood insulation, picking it up from ECS. Mine is a 2008 and it was not a direct fit. I had to make new holes (10) for it at every attachment point which was pretty easy. I then used factory fasteners and overall I am very impressed - it now looks a lot nicer. There is just one problem, if you don't do something about it, the insulation piece completely covers over the opening from the hood scoop, it is a solid piece of insulation. In other words, if you have opened up your hood scoop insert, that air will be directed between the underside of the hood and this new insulation piece, essentially trapped with nowhere to escape. So that needs to be cut open but was easy enough to do using a new sharp razor blade, just take your time and you might have to make a pattern first. I didn't - I just eye balled it and got it lined up perfectly but a pattern would have been a safer way to do it so it is not off centered or too far back or forward from where it needs to be.

Once that was done, I wanted to address the reduction in temperature to the hood. I went with Heatshield products Peel and Stick Heat Shield product. To do this, I removed the just installed black hood insulation and applied the heat shield. I cut it to fit the contours of the hood underside mainly for aesthetics since you can't see much of it anyway once the black insulation is put back on. Again you have to remove a piece big enough to open up the air flow channel from the hood scoop. Once that was done, I cut a slot into the black insulation in order to insert SneedSpeed's ETR diverter This directs the incoming air down into the area of the cool side of the turbo. Also installed their hood scoop grill.

I think all together (along with Cobra Skin wrapping my downpipe previously along with adding Way's turbo hotside wrap) this really cuts down on the radiant heat the hood absorbs and dresses up the under hood nicely.

I took my car on a drive last week and when I stopped to get some gas after two hours non-stop driving with temps in the low 90s, my hood was cool to the touch. Before, it would have been hard to hold my hand much longer than a few seconds.

Forgot to mention that the insulation is quite thick and once you cut through the black outer layer, the inside is a light grey color. I just sprayed this with some black Plasti-dip so it matched the outer covering better.
