Great timing!

I was just about to start searching for pics of an IB MC with an aero kit to help me decide whether to put one on my IB/IB MC. Thanks for helping me decide to do it! I'm not convinced that I want the side skirts though....have to think about that a while longer.

I've been wondering about the white grill inserts on the rear apron. The kit comes to the dealer primed and has to be painted....what about that white insert? Does it have to be painted also or is it already finished white when the primed apron is delivered? I'd rather have it in black and wonder whether I have to tell them paint it that way.

What kind of wheels are those?

OK, I see them on your signature.

That white insert is actually a vinyl sticker....but, shhh....dont tell anyone that when they ask you what it is. Tell them its "mesh"

I have the Aero Kit on my 04 MC and I love the look. Other people have told me it looks aggressive:smile:

The aerokit looks awesome, the thing I don't like though is the rear bumper grill. That's just me though. Is there any other options besides that?

I asked about that rear mesh (about 10 posts above) - his answer: "That white insert is actually a vinyl sticker." So the obvious option is to just leave the vinyl off. I plan to have those spaces filled with something else - probably either black paint or vinyl.

is it possible to cut out the sticker section?

if it's me, i'd cut out the rear bumper's sticker section, put on some black mesh and be done with it

but i wonder how durable that'd be...

I'm glad I saw this thread! I have an HB/B MCS with aero kit that should be here next week, and I would not have been happy with the silver mesh in the rear recesses on a car where all the other accents are black!

I instructed the dealer not to install the mesh decals, and the recesses should be painted black or left body color. My MA suggested the decals would make an excellent template to cut some real black mesh to install in there. He also said he thought somebody made a black out kit for the front recesses where the fog lights are, but didn't know if there was one for the rear.

I have the contact info for the shop who does them locally, so I intend to give him a call when the car is here!

He probably just forgot about the fog light area black out kit from MINI. Of course it'll cost you something close to $80 if I remember correctly and it's probably just another pair of vinyl stickers! I say have them done by someone else. A pair of small, plain black vinyl decals from a local sign shop should be much cheaper.

I also have the black-out fog light panel for the aero kit, im still deciding whether or not to put them on.

Anyways, they are not a vinyl sitcker, they are actually a piece of plastic with a sticky substance on the back. Looks simple enough...

That makes sense. Vinyl is likely to get knicked up in that area.

OK, maybe it's just 'cuz I'm an old fart, but I can't get over how that nose-on pic of your car with the aero kit looks like the nose of an MGB-GT I used to own back in the dawn of time. I had the plexiglas LeMans headlight covers and a chin spoiler on it and I swear looking at the nose of your car gives me flashbacks.

That car was the only car I ever owned that came close to pleasing me as much as my MINI does.
