lol, I had to call in to our rep at the manufacturer's facility to get this straight. At list now we know which lights to get for your Mini!

Does the DRL portion require extra wiring/splicing? Or is it truly plug and play?

You're right, DRLs must be wired separately, using splice connectors or soldering. Low beams, high beams and turn signals are plug and play.

Spyder® - Black Projector Headlights with LEDs

These lights are extremely durable, with an average lifespan of 50,000-75,000 hours. They have simple plug and play installation, meets all federal regulations for street use. Just by replacing your old, dim headlights you’ll gain a safer, more pleasurable driving experience, and give your vehicle an appearance makeover that will result in head turning looks.

If anybody is interested we would be glad to work on some good deal exclusively for Northamericanmotoring forum members!
So what is the reason that these won't work with a 2015? Even if it's halogen lights it would be plug and play?

My bad, I should have been a little clearer. It's a 2015 roadster. Same body style.

I have a 2008 Mini Hatch w/Halogen lights, and have been looking at these Spyder replacement headlight units largely to pick up the projector function with high-beam capability to improve light output for this car (which has somewhat worn 8-year-old factory housings. I tried cleaning them and it helped, but with just a reflector housing, you can only get so good. So curious if anyone has installed these Spyder housings and if you can share any thoughts on improvement in light output/visibility as compared to factory halogens.

thanks - andy

I just installed mine and the light output with LED or Xenon bulbs are very very minimal... Now I got the Halogen Set because i had Halogens originally.. I reached out to ECS to see if the Xenon set has the same plug if so i might get those instead... They look really really awesome on the car with the DRL's !
