toggle switches

I simply hate blocked-off places where switches would go on a dash, and lets face it, the mini is a good example. How expensive are the Mini toggle switches? My car is ordered with the premium and sport packages, but I think there will be a few empty switch holes, since there is no winter package. I plan on adding some rallye lights bigger than stock, so could use some extra switches. Has anyone had to buy one? How expensive are the replacement switches?

The Cold Weather Package doesn't use the toggles...

Driver's Window, DSC, Door Locks, Rear Fogs, Front Fogs, Passenger Window

Those are the toggle switches...

The rally lights are a seperate switch typically mounted on the knee bolster, or if you purchase the parcel shelf there is a switch blank for it...

Some people have reported buying a 'full' switch bank from Classic MINI for $60, but they quoted me $115. You can get 'almost full' (absent of rear fogs) for ~$33 on ebay. Then you need to do custom wiring to get them to work.

If you really want toggles, the '04s had a fog light package for $200 with front and rear fogs. If you didn't get DSC then you'll have one blank to fill. You can source spare toggles here and there, drill out the blank and install the spare (so I've heard - I'll be doing one in a week or so.) You're still left with a custom wiring issue. IanCull here on NAM makes a custom circuit that includes auto-up windows - he could probably set the DSC spot up to power lights. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...searchid=12400
Good luck!

If you do not have DSC you should have ASC-T instead if I am not mistaken.

As Eric mentioned, I have a FEW spare individual toggles again at the moment, if someone needs one to fill a gap. I normally charge $5 to ship one, or include free with a purchased MINI circuit.
My friend Diane who gave me her old toggle panel just had the fogs put in; the replacement toggle panel with all switches was $75 from MINI Peabody.

I don't know why Classic Mini quoted Eric so high recently ...

What web site?
From my web site (http://www.gbmini.net/mtblog/archive/000218.shtml):

If you have "DSC" and front fogs, you need 61 31 6 917 993 (corrected p/n).
If you have "ASC" and front fogs, you need 61 31 6 917 989.

You can order these parts from any MINI dealership.
You can also got to the NAM sponsor directory then contact MINI supplies there that might discount the price - Classic Auto Campus for example:

This number is not valid, I just tried to order an no go.

Is there a way to get the switch pannel?

You are right - and my web site is wrong and needs correcting! Sorry.

I happen, courtesy of Tim, to have a box on my desk right now. The correct part number is 61 31 6 917 993 ... you can actually read it on the graphic on my web page; I just mistyped it :(

I just switched out my 5 toggle panel for the full panel w/ rear fog light. Does anyone have any bright ideas on what to do with the old panel? Maybe install it somewhere as a dummy panel- conversation piece??

I'd hate to just add it to my growing box of "post-mod parts". They look so cool- maybe I'll add them to my Civic
