Would there be more interest if carbon fiber hoods or Hatch's were in the price range of $600-650?

Let me know.

The price range is great.

Think of anything that can be done for innovation instead of a stock part replacement in CF.

Maybe a CF bonnet with opening in the center for-
1. stock sized IC scoop
2. larger air scoop for stock IC
3. Larger air scoop for larger aftermarket IC with appropriate air diverters
4. Above and add another opening for direct cold air intake that works with Alta or Maddness/Pilo airbox.

The rear hatch is alot smaller but is still heavy. Ask yourself with all the weight up front in a MINI (about 60+%) then loosing weight in the rear isn't quite the same as loosing weight up front.

Potentially the rear hatch could loose the plastic interior parts and the rear window wiper to loose more weight which would be a plus. Why not do innovation and add something like pockets for storage or places to hook up 8x8, 6x9, or other subwoofer speakers! Yum yum.

Yeah you could have 2 little intake ducts such as those found on a Peugeot 206cc for example. Your idea brings about a few designs to my head...Wonder which would look good...I'll photoshop 2 or 3 pics of an MCS with different ducts...Should be interesting...

*EDIT* Here's a pic for those of you who don't know what a Peugeot 206 is...ducts would be on the other side obviously...

I agree that they would sell better with new intakes scoops/vents in them...that way you could sell them to cooper owners who dont want to look like S wannabes, and you would be able to improve airflow. There are lots of cooper owners out there that want CF...get rid of all those pounds

I would definitely be interested, and I definitely agree with the scoop and intake idea.

Thanx Danny

I'll see what I can get together. Right now the design is OEM, but I will see what I can work out.

THanks

I'm sure MANY Cooper owners would be interested in a Non-S hood. No need to play "Yeah, its coming..." and not show. Just do it and it would be about time someone take note.

OH GOD NO!!!!

something smaller please, not THAT big

i'd be interested in a cf hood too, just make sure it can be painted, the unfinished cf hood on a mini i think only looks good if the rest of the car is black

Kyriian -- I've asked that question before here and was told carbon fiber can be painted.

I would like both a carbon fiber bonnet (for MC not MCS, i.e., don't need a hood scoop) and hatchback, provided they work well (open and close good) and the quality is tops (fit and finish) -- if I keep this CVT MC and don't trade up to an auto MCS in a year or two. Also, quality as mentioned is more important to me than saving a few hundred bucks. This will reduce weight, just what an MC needs, especially a CVT MC. Outstanding!

ViS racing is debuting their CF hood and hatch for the MINI very soon according to their site(it actually says today ). its at www.visracing.com but its under BMW isntead of mini

Dont know what their price will be when they are put into the catalog but i have seen some of them going for around $500

But still no options for us Cooper owners...how about an offset duct on the driver's side for our intakes? There is no competition in the cooper market *hint hint*
