I got my intercooler cover painted electric blue to match my car and affixed an S decal to it, the one they put on the boot. It looks great! Here are the photos!

A big thanks to Buster at Magnum Collision in Marietta, GA for getting this done for me and for finding that S decal - perfect fit and it looks fantastic!

That's more that sweet, that doublie Zweeet. I like the Electric Blue on the engine compartment, it lifts the engine right out. I was planing on doing my cover Indi Blue, but now I got choice.

Thanks

At the risk of sounding rude, how much did this set you back? It looks sweet.

It does look very nice - but looking at the pics - is the cover necessary? Does it hinder any breathing to the intercooler. Or is it functional?

The best type of paint to use over a 'chromed' surface is a tranluscent paint, that will make the finish look anodized. I will do mine like that and show you what I mean once it's done.

Did you have to clearcoat that, or just paint it?

I would try the new FUSION brand spray paint. It is made to specifically to bond to plastic without flaking or chipping off. Any members try this yet? It is available in many colors

I think it is made by Krylon. I think ACE hardware carries it...Here is the hyperlinkwww.krylon.com/main/product_template.cfm?levelid=5&sub_levelid=10& amp;productid=1751&content=product_details
