Any pictures or comments regarding the pros and cons of mud guards? Are they different from the magnetic Stone Guards as far a protection? I live around around constant road construction here in the midwest and it seems I'm always traveling a road that is being repaired.

Thank you!

I haven't had any issues with my MINI that would have been helped by mud guards. Somehow very early on I got some pitting along the lower protion of the black plastic trim in front of my rear wheels. It hasn't gotten worse and for the life of me I have no idea what might have happened. It really doesn't bother me. As for painted areas...no problems but a few tiny stone chips on the front of my bonnet. A clear bra would have helped that.

I never really liked mudflaps (we're talking mudflaps right?) on my cars so
even if my cars came with them from the dealer, I end up taking them off
for asthetic reasons.

I installed the front mudflaps on my MINI. I had been told they help with the salt spray that washes up the sides of my car in the Winter. They were only 10 bucks and were easy to install. I have to say that I have noticed no real difference. Fortunately they are small and blend nicely with the body style. I'll leave them on. Hopefully they will prevent stone chips from time to time. My advice is if you don't like mud flaps don't bother with the ones for the MINI. Also, the rear mud flaps just seem to look odd IMO. Also, it seems all MINI's are prone to the pitting of the black wheel arches on the rear tires. Mud flaps do nothing to prevent this. It's just the nature of the front wheel drive throwing debris backward.

I have them and I like them. Easy to put on and really inexpensive.
I got mine at Out Motoring. Aaron is a great guy to work with and a NAM sponsor.

For the MCS mudguards are available only for the fronts.
For the MC mudguards are available for front and rear.
We have only one person in my area with front mudguards and they are working fine and look good. Hasn't caught on with any others.
I don't have them and the mud isn't that much of a problem.

I have an MC with rear mudguards on it. I was hoping to reduce the amount of dirt on the boot. Don't seem to make that much difference. I don't mind the way they look, so I left them on.
