speedkills66, how did you get the Pep LEDs to light without the parking lights on for the photo?

1 st pic - Passenger side is the stock w5w bulb, drivers is LED.

2nd pic - all LED front end (minus HIDs and Fogs..).

Very happy with the light color.. Looks like a much brighter (whiter) light.
Nice...just ordered some. They look way better and they'll match the LED light bar making it look less added-on and "cheap".

The harness was disconnected in that photo.
Played with the idea of leaving them disconnected but when both sides were unplugged it gave me the light out indicator.

Wired into the parking lights behind the wheel wells.
Cost = $20 (PepBoys)
Time = 1 hour

OK got my LED parking light bulbs and it definitely completes the look.
I got 4 bulbs for 13.98 from EBAY and took 2 minutes to install....

Looks good! I picked up the 12" Pepboys LED strips yesterday, and thanks to the included battery pack and some painter's tape, I've been test fitting them. My current PIAA "white" city light bulbs have to go, but I can't decide between LED white...or amber. Amber would tie in with the side markers and give the LED strip more standalone attention, but your set up does look clean.
Sorry to say that your mod may not be one-of-a-kind much longer.

9" or 7".. either is tons better than the ridiculous RC antenna the cars come with.

I can't locate the one that fits the MINI.

Did mine yesterday.

A word of warning. Those little 5w bulbs get extremely hot. When I replaced the first bulb, I turned on the lights and tested all four LED sets then installed one of them. The LED lights only work in one direction in the plug. I removed the socket assembly and grabbed the bulb and pulled it out. It was at that time that it felt like my two finger tips were holding the sun. I dropped the bulb on the driveway and had to hold my tongue as my wife and kids were nearby. I ran over and ran water from the faucet over my fingers and my wife went inside to get ice. As I sit here typing, my fingers look and feel burned but have not blistered yet.

My parking lights look much better now though.

Do they make a similar replacement for the fog lights?

5 watts doesn't sound like much until it's all in one spot. A watt is actually a lot of power!

Just 3-4 times that bulb's power is enough to melt solder. Less if working with very small gauge wires.

So yeah, that sounded painful to me!

Yea, when pulling out the old bulbs (which had just been on..). I melted plastic bags trying to use them as insulators so I didn't burn myself... Suckers get hot!

Page 375 of "what did you do to your mini today" has a link for a good sight for led's for Mini's and other European cars. JDM lights that actually work. I too bought lights with 5 elements in them. Easily twice as bright as the original parking lights. I would consider going brighter yet. They had led projector lights too for driving light effects.

Added full LED lighting inside the car. *

*didnt do the glovebox, nor the boot light.

Front two map bulbs are NO FUN to get to. On the upside while I had that center upper console down and apart... I killed the dumb PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG light.. and swapped the Bluetooth microphone to the *drivers* side of the car... I had to pull the bulbs out.. and then put it back together.. and THEN install the LEDs.. the heads were too big to fit in the stock light masks... But they do fit fine once its all together...

2 Foot Well lights.
1 Center upper light
2 - center upper map lights
2 door sill (puddle) lights
2 - foot well lights
1 Club Door light.

10 LED 194 Bulbs -

$10 - Free Shipping - http://www.ebay.com/itm/161054590351...84.m1497.l2649

Got them installed... the stock bulbs get crazy hot.. be careful! These are not CANBUS bulbs, they dont need to be,

Car is much brighter inside now.. MUCH brighter.

Do they fade properly, like the stock bulbs? I very much like the fade on/off effect, it seems to reduce the dazzle effect at night.

Are you removing the parts? Spraying them or brushing them. I would be interested in the details of your process.

Yup, fade on and off just the same.

Really lights up the car too.

Installed Nokya H8 yellow fog light bulbs and PIAA yellow wedge bulbs last night. About $30 total for both sets of bulbs. Will try to snap a pic that isn't too blurry later today or tomorrow.

I've had yellow fogs on all 4 of my last cars and I like contrast with the HID a lot. And it looks cool.

Today I opened up the honeycombs in the hood scoop. Cost: $0, but I already had all the tools I needed.

So, What I did was put a sanding disk on an angle grinder and sanded down the backside of the honey comb so it was flat, applying no pressure to it except for the weight of the tool, and I kept it moving so the plastic sanded more than melted. heres what it looked like at that point.

I then proceeded working with a less gritty disk to sand down until all the openings opened up. Again, let the tool do the work and keep it moving so the plastic doesn't melt too much. If it starts to, stop and take a break for a minute. Should look like this when done.
