Does anyone know where I can buy PAINTED TRUNK LID handle? Part number 51130430312. I have contacted few dealers and they would not ship painted part. I have to order primed and pint it my self. thank you.

 

Just get it and take it to your local paint shop. It might be cheaper anyway.

 

Yup...they are sold NEW as chrome or primer...
So you could have it painted, or paint it with a rattle can.....or perhaps "black it out", and make it black with a flat black or plasti-dip it...or carbonfiber look wrap it.

My concern, can the body shop paint as good as the factory.

I replaced tail lights chrome rings with black line. My car is pepper white. Can not decide on white or black tail gate handle cover.

 

Absolutely, most shops can. It might come out better in some case as MINI's are painted by a machine and not a person.

 

Depending on the year of your car and climate I would ask about the paint-matching of Pepper White. If its fairly new, no big deal. Most shops can do a great job. If you are going with a dark theme gloss black would not be a bad idea either. Paint-matched stuff makes the car look fuller while black-lining makes it look more true to size but it depends on the look you are going for. Got a pic of your car?

If you do the handle white, do the your chrome tail light rings white as well. Or if you don't want the rings, I'll take them.

 

I just picked up a primed cover for my Ice Blue "Justa" and am going to have it painted "#668" black which is the same black as my roof and mirror caps. I'm also going to replace my tail light frames with the "black line" parts. I think it would look good in black...good contrast straight across from tail to tail.

If you have black wheels / black line I think the Ice Blue would really pop with the "black line".

The Ice Blue will look really bad a** if that chrome grille and trim were painted the Jet Black.

 

I agree, that's why I replaced my chrome grill, and upper and lower grill trims with the black versions as soon as I got home from the dealer. The only chrome on the front now is the hood emblem and that piece across the bottom inlet. I might just take that chrome piece off if it doesnt look bad without it.

 

Komet155, what was the part number for lower grill trim? and where did you get it? My car is 2012 and I got part number 51130417137 and it does not fit right. thx.

There's a picture in my gallery showing my car with a gloss black grill. It's not painted black, rather molded that way by Mini. I took delivery of my Cooper last Saturday and swapped out the chrome one as soon as I got home!

What did you attach to your rear bumper......is that a part or a decal or paint?

 

it is MINI bumper guard. I got it from the dealer when I bought the car. It is like decal.

 

OK, got trunk lid painted in local body shop for $40. came out good. planning to install tomorrow. It is only 4 screws that hold the lid attached to the car or there are clips as well? thx.

 

No clips, just the 4 screws and the light connector.
