Paint chips and touch ups

Every month or two I seem to find a new chip somewhere on my paint mostly due to horrible human beings who arent careful when opening their doors in parking lots but sometimes from road debris. Maybe because my car is black or maybe because the paint on these cars is very sensitive but either way I am noticing them more and more. There are a few spots I would like to address but not sure the best way to handle it.

Does anyone have any experience using the touch up paint from the dealership? I do have what seem to be scratches too, from pissed off shopping carts and whatnot.

What is be best way to remove scratches/cover up chips, on these cars?

Thanks!

one of the easiest ways to REALLY screw up the appearance of your car is the uneducated use of touchup paint! 9 ways to do it wrong for every job that comes out looking good..... And there is NO magic product that will fix everything.

many many threads on this

here's one - read down to the bottom -

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-bay-wash.html

& look in the detailing section .... and/or search terms "chip" "langka" "colorchip"

Thanks guys! I will check on the langka and compare to Dr. color chip. Both seem like good options and as stated in the thread the best I'm hoping to achieve is to decrease visibility and protect from rust.

Ill steer clear from touch up paint.

Would these products work well for shallow scratches too?

I've tried two different chip coverup products on very small insignificant chips on a trial basis and walked away from both. There is no way that to do all of them that the front of the car won't look like it has small pox. Best to just leave them and count them as motoring hashmarks, momentos of twisties gone by, coup feathers for the war 'bonnet'.

I've had very good luck with the Langka Blob remover and touch up paint. I filled several rock chips on my Liquid Yellow justa and I knew where the repairs were but unless you had the light just right they were very hard to distinguish. Read the directions and dont leave the paint dry to long and you can rub the excess paint off and leave and very unnoticible repair. Dont use the bush provided with the touch up paint but rather a toothpick to dab the paint into the chip. To much is better than not enough and you can always add a second coat, you can always remove excess paint. Good luck
