That came out really great!

Working with plastidip is great because:

-Its not hard to get a nice, even coat
-If you screw up, you can peel it off
-You can easily revert back to stock color if you sell the car/dont like it
-Its surprisingly durable!

Even if a tech messed it up changing your tires and you had to re-do them all, it would only take a few hrs.

Yep, you got it. I'm really glad I found out about it. I'm sure I'll use it in many projects from here on, Mini related or not

For the amount of money you are going to dump into powder coating those wheels you should just get aftermarket and call it a day. I did my OZs and it $300 for all 4. When I curbed one he charged me $75 for the one wheel. Not worth it for stock wheels.

I like those, and I'd do it with plasti dip, but I don't know. If I can powder coat them and for a good price, then I'll just do that so I wouldn't have to plasti it. But it looks great man, looks like it came like that that.

what do you guys think?
I have the same wheels on my car, was it difficult? And do you put tire shine on your tires, cause everytime I was wash my car I do and I want to know if it will affect the plasti dip?

I bought my Plasti Dip from dipyourcar.com, and he has some great videos explaining a lot of different aspects and techniques for it, check it out:

I dipped the wheels on my Tundra, and had one of those style wheel weights come off. It didn't harm the dip and was easily touched back up. The dip seems to smooth itself out somehow and blend right in on touch ups!

(I am addicted to the plasti-dip, and have already been warned multiple times by my wife to stay away from our new R56!)

I just found out a friend sprayed her Mustange 5.0 with gun metal plastidip. Turned out pretty good.

Ooh I've been curious about the gun metal, what did she spray?

Thanks for this! I think my 5-star twin spokes are going to get the plasti-dip treatment very soon...

Is it okay if I put tire shine on(it is a spray bottle) if I have plasti dipped wheels or will it affect it by peeling off or cause bubbles. Thank you, I haven't done the plasti dip yet, but I want to confirm this before I make that decision.

As far as I know, the only issue with tire shine is to make sure that when applying the Plasti Dip you've completely dried the shine from the tires and wheels so that it can adhere correctly. As for after they're already dipped, I haven't heard/ read any issues with using it, but I'm no expert.

Well, to each their own; he loves 'em, and that's all I was worried about

Any strategies for doing the dip with the wheels on and covering the lugs? Painters tape seems to be the best option but seems like it won't come out to well that way or that the dip will peel with the tape when I take it off. Thanks in advance guys.

This is the technique I've used for all of the dip projects I've done:
