How'd you get your DRLs to be the upper fog lamps? On my 07 the DRLs are the HIDs.

Also referred to as City Lights for some reason. I got the LEDs for those, all interior lights, license plate lights and reverse lights from Peter at 4ae Auto Design. Great to work with. I bought LED fogbulbs on eBay and they work OK but cause an error on the dash. They dont project enough light for my taste. I'm changing those out with PIIA H8 Plasma Yellow Ion bulbs this weekend.

I found posts by Peter through this forum and private messaged him. For the fog lights you can google "PIIA H8 bulbs". Got them through Amazon.com but they are available elsewhere. I've also seen other posts about Nokya bulbs for fogs.

BTW, the PIIAs are non-LED. I didn't like the light output of the LEDs I had. They are bright to look at but I can't really see their light from inside the car which defeats the purpose. Not sure if that was clear or not.

yea that makes sense, they need to be more directional or need more watts i guess , did you look if there was other led lamps that had more watts?

No, I got turned off with the error light from the LED and I wanted to try the yellow light color. There is a post or two about LED Fog Light DRLs and that looked good but I opted for the PIIA version non-LED. I'll try to post some pics once I get the new ones installed. I do like the LED in the Parking/City Lights though. No error codes with any of my other LEDs.

did mine as well

One of the first mods I did was to apply the VHT paint to my side scuttles and side reflecter lights this product is great it is translucent but gives the apperance of black..your car looks greatBTW i found a link which was provided to me by "clubster uk" in this site for all of our lights to be switched to LED type.. these bulbs are all super high quality and the results via the pics he provided are amazing! the only down fall is that they are in the UK,so ordering them via the intrenet is a must, however the shipping is free all the bulbs needed for our r56 are currently out of stock but they will be in , in approximateley 4 weeks according to my contact via the website,, i will be ordering them then and will post a thread showing the results of the changes on my MINI.. i suggest u visit his post(thread) to see what he has done i belive it looks fantastic and his car defintaly sold me on the idea of switching to LED"S....BTW here is a couple photos of my lights with VHT..

I've been contemplating whether to use the NightShades on my reflectors or just flat black plastic paint to match the finish of the fender trims. My car is hot chocolate so I think a gloss black reflector may look a little weird in there with my silver r112s and other silver details. With my black r112s they would look great no question.

Your MINI looks amazing btw. Just enough black and the chrome grill trims really matches everything else.
