2008 seats in a 2002 MCS

Hi Im sure their info on the forum but could not put my hands on it, the question is actualy I have a 2002 MCS and the seats are damage and I saw some 2008 seats in mint condition for sale so was wondering if its major to switch or not bad . Thanks for the input

I don't think it would be simple because you're going from 2nd gen to 1st gen.

The connections for the seat (air bag, seat belt tensioner, etc.) are different between the 2 generations. I'm not sure about the rails - you would just have find someone with a 2nd gen and measure to compare. Messing the air bag connections would make me nervous...

I have done newer r53 seats in the pre-facelift cars, but not as far as an r56 seat in an r53. People told me it was doable, but I dont know about that. If you want seats from an 04-06 in your 02, you're gonna need to swap the seatbelt harness from your seats to the new ones. I put seats from an 06 into my 03 a few months ago.

Is there any chance the 2008 seats came out of a convertible? That would make it a first-gen model, just like your 2002.
