That is the question I am asking. And if you can give me an answer to that question, then I will buy you a six pack
A little late getting back in here. I'd never accuse anyone of being a moron sight unseen until they proved themselves a greater moron the me. In anticipation, I would suggest that yes, the clear bra being a few mm's thick, the stripe laid over the clear bra would have a slight rise and the appearance being detatched from the paint surface. The only thing to mitigate this would be to cover the entire bonnet with clear bra rather than just the nose like most of them are done.

Can you take the stripes off without damaging the clearbra if you have to put heat on them?

We have done it, just don't use a heat gun, a hair dryer will work and not put out as much heat, or just let the car sit out side on a warm sunny day...
Will probably be some adheisve left behind to clean up though...

Well finally a solid answer. After speaking with Mike at Aesthetic Creations (very nice guy by the way), he was very quick to asnwer the clear bra first without question then the stripes. So that is good with me, since this guy does it for a living. His two points were that you have the potential for dirt to get under the clearbra, and the ability to remove/change graphics if need be.
Thanks for everyones input, and I hope this helps others as well.

x2 clear bra guy would NOT install over stripes since he guarantees his work. Vinyl guy said w/o a doubt, clear bra first. Also, doing full hood, bumper, mirrors, scoop and lenses $800 for Gen III 3M. I think that is more than fair.

I just got clear bra on my new Highgate. I had the front bumper, mirror caps and the ENTIRE bonnet done. Yes there is a very slight gap along the edge of the stripes. I took it back and showed it to the guy who did it. He says it takes a while to cure and that eventually, I won't notice them at all. Otherwise, it looks perfect. Completely undetectable.

We'll see.

I don't think I would put the stripes on top of the film.

My stripes are over the film. I have flat black stripes and if they were under the film they would no longer be flat. No issues and look great.

The installer that did my clear bra (over stripes) cut the clear bra material at the edge of the stipes so that there was not a concave rounded gap there. You can't even tell that it was done. It just looks like the edge of the stripe as if the bra wasn't there.

One of the reasons I installed the clear bra was to protect the sport stripes. I had a fairly good size rock tear in the front section of my sport stripe only a few weeks after taking delivery of the car. The pepper white paint didn't look so good showing through the black sport stripe. Used some black touch up paint to fix the gouge before applying the clear bra. It doesn't look perfect but not too noticeable.

On my first MINI, the clear bra went over the aftermarket stripes. On my second MINI, the clear bra was laid alongside/between the aftermarket stripes, but not over them. Presume that was the most difficult, but thats how the installer wanted to do it.

On my newest MINI, tomorrow, the clear bra will be laid over the factory stripes. All three went half way up the bonnet.

I had no issues with either of the first two regarding adherence or appearance. they were absolutely unnoticeable from about five ft. I'm hoping that will be the same tomorrow!

Good luck!

Phx, I have the stripes over the bra, yes there is a small line, is it noticeable, not much, would I be happy to be able to repair or replace the stripes that are already lookin kinda beat up ............. yes. I would vote for over, bras are expensive and you don't want to do it twice.

this sounds interesting to me - would require some precision but avoids all the aforementioned issues, save for if u wanted the clearbra to protect ur stripes
