Interior/Exterior Countryman tint thread
Im very happy with 35%. My concern with a darker tint was the black roof. I wanted some contrast between the windows and the roof and just wasnt sure the darker tints would have given me that.
Here is my tint, 5% rears/20% fronts. I know its not a CM but you can see the black roof vs windows some what.

I think the darker tint makes other features pop on the car, like wheels and paint colors.

Yeah looks pretty good on your car. I have 15% on my STi on the rears, nothing in the front due to state law. My wife on the other hand may be able to get a tint waiver due to her sensitive eyes.
Yea that was something that always bothered me on the Cooper and even other cars, not just the black roof but the black pillars. Not a fan of how the dark tint swallows up those lines when they are the same shade it changes the whole look of the car.

Just had the R60 done yesterday with "sputtered metalized" film. I was surprised at its incredible heat rejection properties as felt by my forearm when driving around yesterday. Evidently, the ceramic and sputtered metalized films do the best job at heat rejection. Strongly suggest either.
By way of an update, I ended up having to get a prescription for tinted windows from my eye doctor because the CM is considered a car so I couldn't go darker than 50% on ANY of the windows. So I got a prescription written for 20% and had 25% 3M tint put on all the way around - it metered out at 21% so I should be safe.

My installer uses the 3M grades of light, medium, dark, and limo. I chose medium for the front, dark for the rear, and limo for the sunroof. (I'm guessing that this is equivalent to 35, 20, and 5 percent). The "light" tint seemed pointless.
I'm very happy with the choice, as it seems to keep the car cooler in the bright sun we have here.

Thanks. It is hard to see in pics but there is also a thin red pinstripe on the bottom line of the doors and on the hood to tie everything together.
25% rear doors and hatch (meters at about 20%) and 32% NC legal for the front two doors. You can't see it (that's the idea) but I have a full front clear bra wrap including the entire hood (no line, the whole hood is wrapped), mirrors, lights, bumper, door edges, handles, and hatch sill.

30% front 15% back and rear window
Had this done last week. It's standard Johnson Window Film. I think it's perfect, dark, but I'm also moving to Arizona in a few months. Bonus: with any tint, your "disco" lights look brighter!
