Interior/Exterior Countryman tint thread
Countryman tint thread
Im getting tint put on our CM soon and wanted to see what everyone here has on their CM's. Please post what % tint you have have along with a picture of your car. I'll post mine as soon as I get the tint on. Thanks everyone.
First thing we did the week after getting our CM was to tint the windows. No regrets. That black interior was screaming for window tint!!

Hard to get a good picture because the sun is so bright today so opted for the garage. I think you get the idea.
We did Llumar Ceramic Charcoal all around with 50% on the front side windows and 15% on the back....the legal limit here.
Very pleased.

Take your car.. take ms paint.. add black color to windows and you now have what you car should look like.
Personally if you dont get your tint under 20%, there is really no reason to have it. I hate seeing the back 3 windows done in 5% and the front 50%. Looks dumb and tint laws are probably the stupidest thing I have ever seen.
The darker you can go, the better it will look.

thanks. Ugh, in California, I can't have ANY tint on the front windows. I'm going to do a super light tint, and 35 or 20 on the back. Have an appt. in a week and a half. I'f I had it my way, it would be 35% front, 20 or 15 back.....

Thanks for the responses everyone.
I find it perfect, had my last four cars done between 30% and 40%, 35% seems just right (plenty before that darker). It's just dark enough, not a distraction when you drive at night, but dark enough to be private and keep out the sun when driving. I also think it looks great.
Looks awesome, Cam!!
Be sure to check what's legal in your state. It's just not worth the hassle.
. Now my WRX I had in 02/03, had 20% tint, and I was bothered a few times, although again I was being stopped for something else. Still ultimately never got a ticket for it, just warned. Now iirc, NJ use to (might still and I would assume other states do) enforce the law for safety inspections, so your car would not pass with illegal tint on it, I would imagine this would be a horrible hassle, luckily not the case here in NY.
So the best advise is to know what you can and can't get way with where you live.
Be happy with the replies you've received.
JudgeS, I didnt mean the off topicness of the thread. Just that posting what % tint you have without any pictures doesnt help much.
PoundTown, going to a tint shop and looking at samples in a catalog doesnt help much either imo. I want to see CM's and what THEY look like with different shades of tint. JudgeS's car is right on point with what 35% looks like in person, not saying thats always the case but atleast you get an idea of what it looks like in most cases. I am happy with the responses ive gotten doesnt mean im going to settle for a few responses. The more the better.

Thanks for your opinion. We went with 35% all around. Looks great! There are other advantages to having tint other than the "go dark or go home" mentality. Ours was mainly for UV protection for our 11 month old, second looks. We didnt want to go so dark that the windows blended in with the black roof... wanted some contrast. I'll get some pictures as soon as the weather gets better.
Thanks for the responses everyone.
Thanks for the responses everyone.
Mainly cause a tint ticket is cheaper than new interior.
