I just tapped up the bulb in the socket and used silver high temp paint(Same can for 10 years and dozens of bulbs). The key is to only paint the bulb lightly, it will start to look like a speckled egg pattern, keep painting past that until its uniform and then stop.. too much will make them very dim. During the day they do loose a little brightness but at night they are still very bright. Just depends on how you paint..
I then took the bulbs and hung them in front of a fan for a hour or so. Then very carefully blindly fit them in without sratching them up.. The one other thing the silver bulbs have going for them.. They dont scratch up..

Good luck.

I ordered a set of 7507 for my Non S(Base) CM ...(of ebay for $8.99 with free shipping) and installed them today. Fit fine, connectors and all. I have Non Xenon, regular halogen headlight set-up. Hope that clears up some confusion. They look 100% better than the orange ones, I actually thought MINI would have done this for me as I ordered my CM with the whited out version of the trun signals, only to realize when i took delivery, the only thing clear/white was the side turn signal lens cover, not the bulbs too....
Now I need to figure which bulb for the side turn signals as they look just as easy to access/replace as the front turn signals were!

Thats easy turn wheels for easier access, now you will find two round turn panels in the front fender, the higher one accesses the turn signal (lower the fogs and parking lights). turn remove, next you will find the back cove to the turn signal housing turn and remove finally the bulb turn and remove, no wires or harnesses to disconnect very easy and straight forward.

Bingo! It was that easy....just as he stated. I followed the 3 steps of instructions in the Owners Manual and was done both in 5 minutes max. Great look!

Yep I did them myself, although I totally stretched the boot stripe out when doing it so I haven't finished (I also have the roof). I ordered them from here:
http://www.mini-graphics.co.uk/index...mart&Itemid=80

Great prices, great quality, cost almost half as much as any place here in the US even with the shipping (and it arrived in about a week, although I'm in NY). I think the whole body stripe (including roof) cost me like $116 shipped.

The install is not that difficult as long as you take your time and use the wet method, but if you don't feel that comfortable doing it go with a vinyl install co. considering it only coast $116 I figured I'd try it myself.

Ok.. Back from the Cape with the family..in the tons of mail... Are my bulbs from eBay which were discussed prior to leaving. Sort of lost touch of what works and doesn't.. Anyways ordered the Cycolite's 7506's for turn signals.....did these end up working for those who also ordered them?
Thanks
Fred

Here's what I know. The ebay package is definitely different, but it works. This is on a S All4, with adaptive zenons.

The side pins and bottom contact are different, but yet they work.

Stock

Chrome

Output is much weaker with the chrome. Pass side is chrome, drivers side is stock

video of the difference in output

Those are about as bright as my homemade painted bulbs. Can you see them well during the day? Mine are real dim during daylight hours.

Well just pulled the bulbs….they are marked 2357…they look completely different.
Just the way Mojito described. If there twists…not sure how the side pins offset will work without the non offsets ? Just place them in the socket without a turn?

I wound up painting mine today very easy

I don't like using the wrong bulbs, even more than using painted ones.

Same here…Not sure how that one works on some. Offset pins & double contacts are there for a reason. Maybe thats Mojito's installed bulbs are a lot weaker & less power.

Installed the Air Intake from VIP today... Pretty straight and simple...nice product and nice swoooosh sounds. Can really hear the turbo now. Also bought and installed the the heat shield from VIP. That actually took a liitle more work/mods as the plastic cover with Mini logo isn't made to go on after the shield is installed. Didn't like the look without the cover, so just slimmed down the plastic and all looks good and fits great. Now only if I had the correct signal/parking lights to swap out for the ambers would of been a perfect day.

Yes actually had the hardest time finding chrome 1157A bulbs, so gave up bought an extra set of 1157A bulbs at the auto part store (also surprisingly hard to find, the first two store I went to were out) along with rustoleum high heat aluminum silver spray. Just made two holes in the cardboard packaging to protect the bases/ hold them to dry, and sprayed. I probably over sprayed one a bit but you can still see them OK. Looks great although I am tempted to spray the socket now as well, it is reddish/orange and can also be seen a bit in the light. Also going to try and do a better job on the stock bulbs today, as the more I read the 2357 although very similar to the 1157 are not the exact same bulb (2357 is just a bit brighter), so I think I'd prefer putting them back in.

I found the key to painting them is when they start to look like a speckled egg its almost done. Go one more spray past that then stop. Thats enough. Also painting from a slight distance helps put less paint on at one time. That helps quite a bit. Do lots of small layers..

I used a grey header paint instead of silver and it seems like it has worked a little better to keep the brightness of the buld. As All4 said, keeping the spary at a distance did a great job to make a very light coat, and I just put a few layers on.

Still, once a SS bulb becomes available, I will buy it in a second. Oh, and nice pics Mojito, great paint job!

my owners manual says to use" P21W, or PY21W if necessary" for the turn signals. i then went on ebay and found tons of options. i ended up buying the standard chrome with amber light for 7.00 shipped, but they have many white/silver led options that light up amber. they look like they could put out clearer and brighter light. they are the same price i paid for the standard chome bulbs. so once i get my light deyoked, i'll probably buy some to see. anyone tried them?
