Having "jumped the queue" successfully I am just days away from taking delivery of my new MCS having ordered it less than a week ago. My dealer (Motorwerks Mini in Mpls) found the exact car I wanted at another dealer so I was thrilled not to have to wait the two monts or more for a build or the many more monts it sounds like some of you have waited.

Today I drove over the BMW dealership where it is being prepped and got my first look...can't wait.

Anyway, one option that came up when looking at accessories with my "Motoring Advisor" was Walnut Dash panels to replace the Alloy Patina. I was intrigued but just could visualize whether or not these would look cool or cheesy...has anyone ordered these? Pictures? They are not on the MINI web site.

I would imagine that someone other than MINI might make a cheaper version as well so what about aftermarket dash pieces? I think the MINI Walnut was about $1000 installed...

My car is British Racing Green with Cordoba Beige Leather, which the dealer claimed is about the only color combo where Walnut looks cool...whaddya y'all think?

BTW. this is my first post after reading this forum for a couple of weeks...great stuff!

First of all welcome to NAM, and soon MINI ownership. The walnut trim kit would make your car very unique. (not in a 'she has a nice personality' blind-date way) The advantage of the high price is the warranty that comes with dealer installed mods. You will have peice of mind, if the qulity is not to your expectations. Having said that I have heard of many poor quality dash kits in the Miata community. By all means, inspect the kit before you have it mounted.
