Andrewsky - it's essentially 3M-type graphic material. If you go the parts department at your dealer, they sell the bonnet stripes separately and you can see precisely what they're made of. It's the same stuff. I recall reading a while ago that bonnet stripes are applied by the dealer rather than at the factory but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I ordered Alice with stripes and they told me that I could change my mind up to a day or so before delivery as they (and roof decals) are applied at the dealership.
I'm happy with the quality thus far, including use as a daily driver in Las Vegas (meaning they took the 120 degree heat over the summer fine) for 15 months now.

LY/B MCS, pulley, black scoop & bonnet stripes. MINIAC plates.

Andrewsky brewski,

the decals are cheaper if you order them direct. I think mine were about 82.00. If you have the dealer put them on, I think you'll pay more for their labor, etc.

I ordered mine with the stripes but not sure how long I'll keep them...sales guy kinda talked me into them but I'll probably keep them till they show signs of decay or get a custom center stripe thing which is what I really like anyways.

the reality with any sticker, decal is that the paint will fade around it in a long term. red paint seems to fade the fastest. if you're unsure, don't do it.

some of them show bubbles after very hot weather.

I have the factory decals and am extremely happy with them. One has a stone chip in it but, I have 23,000 miles and would expect something to that effect

Pretty sure that if you order an S, it comes from the factory with the stripes installed. My mini showed up on a friday afternoon at the dealer, and i snuck in the lot on sunday when they are closed and found my mini...stripes and all.
