What year model Headlights are interchangeable?

I have a 2002 and was wondering if 2005-2006 headlights would fit? I have tried the search to come up with no answers. I do not have head light washers so I would understand that would be a factor.

Thanks in advance.

"Installation information
For cars built before 09/03, the electronic body module (ZKE) must be replaced (TIS 61 35 510).
After the installation work the retrofit kit must be programmed / coded using DISPlus or GT-1 via the
Retrofit/CIP path."

Yeah I think we might be out of luck (I have an '02 as well). Might get someone on here who has an '02 and has done the swap but not ot my knowledge yet.

I don't think we are out of luck. I think what it is describing is for xenon's. I am interested in fitment and it seems like everything is going to be okay. I am going to order some Depo units to do a TSX retrofit and will keep everyone posted.

Ahh I see, I was looking for an easy OEM swap and leaving a true retro to the last option. I did FX projectors on my ranger and it was a pain. I then did a Morimoto (cheap but decent) D2S projector and HID retro on my 2009 R56 S and it was a little easier. I would like to hold off if I could as my wife gets tired of seeing my headlights in the oven.

well as you know, the OEM will cost around $1.2k to do and imo, does not justify the cost after you see a projector like a TSX. All that it is describing I think is a reflash of the body controller. This can be done at the dealership very quickly.

the fitment is the same bmwboyee. Are you replacing with standard headlamps or xexons from 05-06?

Personally I am just looking for the halogens. The other poster I think is looking for the xenons. If you know anyone with the halogens for sale, please let me know.

No the light from a 2008 R56, or new body style MCS will not work. From a 2008 R52 yes.
