Do these come with a giant Mini logo decal that blocks most of my view out the back window, and a 6" diameter exhaust tip? Then I can drive around late at night cranking my bass and waking people up...

Blech.

OK, I'm probably dating myself, but I'd install JC Whitney Blue Dots before I put these things on my car...

>>I bet the original Altezza taillamp designer shot sake out of his nose when he saw all the crappy imitators he inspired.

Was it warm or cold sake? How do we know it was not Asahi beer?

Sure they're ugly, but it was bound to happen.

I think we all should play nice with the other children!
Boy, this site is starting to look like a bunch of uppity snobs!
At least they are offering an alternative. Maybe their offering will cause other MINI vendors to get off their butts and come up with something original and cool.
We may not like it but someone will, to each his own.

Yuck, I hope they stay "rare." I guess it's just a matter of taste (or lack thereof), but never mind the fact that it's my right to choose whether to put them on my own MINI, I hope I never even SEE these ugly things in person.

Oh come on!....they don't look that bad...I think some of you are afraid of looking "ricey" just because there made by APC and I'll be first to say I have never seen APC products up close so I can't say much about the quality but the price is right compared to others and it gives alll MINI owners another choice which can't be a bad thing. I would consider the carbon fiber looking set for my DS/B Cooper S but I would have to hold them in my hands first to check them out and see how well they are made, they also have a titanium finished set that might look nice on a PS Cooper...I think we will be seeing alot of these around on Coopers very soon because they offer a custom look without shelling out $400.00 or more. Keep in mind that it's great that aftermarket companys are making accessories for the MINI even if theres a few you don't personally care for...get used to it cause I assure you there will be many more on the way. Just my 2 cents

Yes, but they don't look that good, either. Even if - and this is a big if - the APC taillamps weren't poorly assembled, shoddy products that offer decreased visibility of your signals to other motorists, the Altezza taillamp styling trend is, in my mind, a tired automotive cliche. They're up there next to wheelhouse bulges with vertical lip surfaces on my list of designs that should be buried, then covered with several yards of concrete to ensure that they're not resurrected. Such lamps were a little daring and different on the Toyota Altezza/Lexus IS300. But then the design was used on the Lexus RX300, then the Nissan Altima, then the Lancer Evolution, then...

It's a fantastic thing that there are aftermarket companies making products for the MINI, but that doesn't mean that I have to like what's being produced!
