New sport stripes for 2011?
Having a bit of an issue with my dealer regarding the sport stripes for my new Clubman... Stripes weren't on the car when I picked it up, so I made an appointment to have them installed (they had to order them). After waiting for them to show up, dropped the car off, came back a couple of hours later to find an ~1.5 inch gap between the end of the stripes and the back (windshield side) of the hood. Advised my MA this couldn't be correct, pointed out that the hood had changed for 2011 and the stripes were likely the wrong ones. MA went and got the stripe package out of the trash to get the part number off of it, and in the meantime I checked RealOEM and found that the sport stripes for LCI (2011+) R55 Clubman cars do indeed have a different part number from those for pre-refresh cars... Confirmed when the MA got back that the old stripes were used (pn 51140407144)... Seems cut-and-dried - provided MA with the correct part number from RealOEM (51140441917) and was told they'd have to order them and would get it corrected...
Yesterday morning I get a call from the service manager at the dealership to discuss the issue... He indicates that they do see the part number I provided listed in their system, but that the system does not show it associated with for my vehicle / application (2011 Clubman non-S)... He's supposed to be "looking into it", but I haven't heard back yet.
Anyone else with a 2011 had issues with getting the dealership to install the correct sport stripes?
Going to call a couple of local shops and get quotes today on some custom stripes, may go that route and render the point moot anyway... Just seems a little silly to me that I'm having to 1) point out to them that the installed stripes are obviously the wrong ones, and 2) go to an outside source to provide the dealer with correct part numbers, then argue the correctness in light of point 1.

I had my stripes done by a company run by guys in the local MINI club. If you have a local club, talk to them... they probably know who to go with. I have heard nothing very good or inspiring about getting stripes done at the dealerships around here (NC).
The guys that did mine were very good at it, and actually cared that it was done correctly and looked good. However, the guys that do it at the dealership just want to get it out the door. We had a stripe put on my husband's MCS at the dealership because it was included in the purchase... had to make them reapply it because they didn't wrap it under the hood. Instead they left a jagged edge exposed.
Not to mention the dealership charges way too much. Our local dealership wanted $175 for my bonnet and I think $150 for the boot. That would have been $325 before tax. For $382 (custom vinyl + 4.5hrs of labor) I had bonnet, bumper, boot, and roof done on my MCCS as well as a boot stripe added to the MCS. And it was done well! If I had done that at the dealership it wouldn't have looked as good and it would probably have cost twice that.

My stripes are/were to be included in the negotiated price of the car. Was happy enough with the dealer-installed sport stripes on my 2010. Going to get a couple more estimates from local installers, but may end up just installing my own. Not sure I can justify spending several hundred dollars to have stripes installed - that would buy me a set of springs or other useful mods.
I had a similar problem recently regarding a 2011 Cooper Hood recently, and a similar result: If the computer doesn't tell them EXACLY what to do, they're completely clueless.
I was trying to get a 2011 Cooper hood for my wrecked 2009 (along with a pre-2011 MCS front bumper so they line up) and they acted like I was attempting to install a Countryman Hood on an R50, saying it would be require tons of custom work, that I would end up spending $15k to make it work, etc. So, I did what you did: I did my own research, gave the part numbers to the body shop guy, and told him to just order those parts and ignore the guys at the MINI parts counter when he calls to order.
Good luck!

Does anyone have recommendations on high quality vendors for sport stripes for a 2011 MCS? I have an order in process and want to go ahead and get the sport stripes so that I have them when the new ride arrives. Any help appreciated.

These guys are members (one is the founder) of our local club. They did my MCCS stripes and added a boot stripe to my husband's MCS to match the bonnet stripe the dealer had put on. They did excellent work! Not sure if they do mail order stripes or not, but definitely look them up.
This is a link to some photos I posted on flickr of my stripes
