I'm planning to order the matte black tips, but I'm dying to see the black pipes sticking out of the CM.
I wanted the Matte black but I was slightly concerned about the amount of black sute that come out of the exhaust. I'm hoping the gloss finish wont show it as much..

Either black will look better than whats on it now..

Is our OEM exhaust 2.25" or 2.5"?

Trying to order parts for a custom axle-back. Noticed these tips are 2.25", but thought the system was 2.5".

Has anyone tried this with a Justacooper? I love the look of 4" outlet, even one side it should look great. I would imagine the pipe size is the same.

Black exhaust tips on!

I finally got to the muffler shop this morning and had these bad boys put on. Looks soooooo nice! I only drove a 1/2 mile since I got them so I can't say anything about the sound yet. I will be running in sport mode on the way home for sure.. And every photo I tried to take of the whole backend you couldnt even see the pipes. Close up is it..

Post pictures of those matte black tips.

I did our's this week, full 4 inch and new stainless bends out from the muffler.

No change in sound, but they look a whole lot better.

You can view the work pictures at this link if you want to see more. LINK LINK.

I saw your pics - thanks! Looks like they used 2.5" stainless pipe. Were those 2.5" tips at the inlet?

Starting to worry, since the matte black tips are only 2.25" at the inlet.

I used a 2.25 inlet on mine and they were still able to slide over the pipe.

I believe the piping is actually 2.18 or close to it.

Stock MINI piping on the CM is 2 inch per my installer, the new pipes are 2.5 inchs with 4 inch tips.

Any good muffler shop should have the proper bending tools and can weld up what is needed.

This shop is in Longmont, Colorado. The owner and his crew do some pretty good custom work, this was a simple job.

I'm thinking 2.25" will be fine on the tip ID (since they don't make them in any other size). Since I'm cutting the piping before the muffler, I'll just have them make a 2" T-Pipe at the junction and run into the tips.

I wish more manufacturers made black tips!

Put some new tips on today, 4" black tips from Dimisa. Fills out the cutouts much better. A little louder, maybe, hard to say from inside or the whole 8 blocks from the muffler shop back home.

great tips

Best looking tips I've seen. Please advise: are they 3.5" or 4"? Resonated or not? Thanks.

4" double-walled stainless steel, just some generic brand.

Has anyone in Masschusetts done this to their Countryman yet? If so, what shop did you go to?

thinking about buying 4" OD x 7" L x 2.25" ID Angle Cut Exhaust Tip. Angled cut seems to look a bit better.

finding a shop is no problem, just have to make sure i don't have any doubts.
