r53 stock handbrake cover internal diameter

Hey Guys,

Looking for a new handbrake lever cover for the MINI and have come across a few options on ebay.

I just need to find out if these fit so need to know the internal diameter of the stock handbrake cover

Or

The diameter of the handbrake lever without the cover

thanks in advance

-Julz

PS. Would normally check this myself, but my car is 400km away in a smash repairer near the RAAF base and im on leave at my parents house

If your car is truely a R53 then you need to pop over to the 1st gen forums to get your answer. This is the wnd gen R56/55/57 forums section.

Of course, because of the fact that the ebrake lever is actually two pieces of sheet metal that are formed into shape and joined together, it isn't really what a machinist would consider "round"; and the levers do vary dimensionally from one to another.

When I'm making an ebrake handle, I ream the ID to .808", and it seems to work fine.
