Can I have your opinion?

I've got a 08 regular Cooper in Lightning Blue with black stripes. Here's a pic. I want to paint the calipers. I have always been partial to red. Since this car is blue, do I do them red, or silver. I really am not a fan of blue calipers, but I like a color that pops. What do you guys think?

Ivan

I think it would look pretty lame, especially on stock calipers, but that's my opinion. I have painted all the calipers on my cars silver just to get rid of the rust color.

So you think silver just to brighten them up? I put silver Baer calipers on my Monte SS and they look good, I just wasn't sure on this. The Blue changes everything.

I'm a red fan my self. But for your car I would suggest a gloss black, with possible a blue strip. I think it would fit your car really well. But definitely I would go with a Gloss black calliper before silver.

You know, that sounds very interesting. Black with a blue accent. That didn't cross my mind, but I too think that would be a very interesting look. Goes with the striping. Thank you for the suggesting. You have me thinking now!

No, Yellow looks good on Porsches, but The yellow i have seen on other cars fight to stay clean. The yellow would look good against the blue, but I'd hate to have them look dirty. I have a Cadillac CTS[V with silver calipers from the factory and I wipe them clean all the time, but silver doesn't attract your attention to the dirt, Yellow would scream it.

Yellow might work if you had something else yellow on it and it went with the whole theme (e.g. Blue Angels or something). I'm thinkin' on yours not so much.

I like the idea of the black with the blue accents.

Wish I could figure out a way to do white or a combination or red/white on mine. Seems like it would be a real pita to keep clean and looking good.

I'm going to figure out a black with blue look. I really like that, the more I think about it. I think Im going to accent the blue with a thin silver pinstripe look, just to pull all the colors together. I"m going to try to order up some ceramic caliper paint kits and see what I can do. I'll post the pics when I finish it. I'm psyched now!

If I was to do Red and White I would do it like the canadian coast guard http://www.gamru.com/DCP01478.JPG

But thats because I'm Canadian

Come to think of it that would look slick as a black caliper with a blue think stipe on an angle

I'll lay out some blue painters tape to try to figure it out. That same look is like the hashes on a Grand Sport Corvette
