suggestions??

Hey guys,
I'm new..so I figured I'd like to get some input from some people on what I shall do to my Mini Pooper..yes that's the name

I've been reading about how everyone is painting their headlight rings different colors, and gas caps and all the other good stuff..

I have a MCS 1st gen in true silver I think it's called..the lighter silver color..

What do you guys think?? Any ideas? What colors should I do? White or black accents? Should I do some kind of vinyl??

Yay for first real post

also, I'm the second owner, and I bought the car with very very minor damage to my bumper..the plastic is ever so slightly cracked near the fog lights (about an inch long crack) but I'm not sure how to fix that..I was thinking maybe just getting a whole new bumper? not stock probably, so if you have a cool one or have seen one, I'd like input on that too :D

thaaaankss!!!

Welcome!!! Ask yourself this first. Are you a purist or an enthusiast? Purist tend to scorn the whole blackout/dechroming of the accents. It doesn't matter, as you'll have this win any car group you come across. It's really up to you and your tastes. I'm kind of a dark individual, so blacking out a car is what I like. I personally don't see anything wrong with chrome, but again, I just want my car to reflect me. So, if you like the MINI for it's heritage and original looks, just keep the chrome. If you want to make the car look a little more aggressive, then go ahead and change the color. Black is a great contrasting color to silver, but I could almost see you changing the headlight rings, door handles, and gas cap door to the body color.

As for repairing your bumper, it's easiest just to replace the whole thing. You can repair the plastic, but to me it's honestly not worth the hassle. I won't suggest any bumpers for you as I personally don't like body kits, especially MINI's aero kit. I just added a Hamann style front splitter and rear diffuser. Good luck and keep us posted.

Here's my "Pure Silver" that I just blacked out a little while ago, didn't know if I would like or not. Of course I plasti-dipped it in case I didn't. But now that I'm sure I can do something more permanent.

I do like the idea of changing it up a bit..I like classic minis and I want one..one day..but the new cooper is a new cooper and it's a different car so I wanna have some fun with it :D

ooo thanks for the pictures!! btw I love the convertibles..sadly I live in Seattle..not too many sunny days around here (I think we have like 290 days a year that are overcast..and a lot of the time it's raining too..)

I think I do like the plasti-dip stuff..I read a couple other threads about it..it sounds interesting..
